please move this thread back to the coaching forum. it serves no purpose in staking at all.

Because of the recent shortstacking debate, I have decided to give it a try myself.

I am looking for someone to teach me Short Stack Strategy.

You don't have to be a shortstacking expert, or play high. I don't mind if I'm your first student. All I want is that you are a winning short stacker, and you know what you're talking about.

I'm currently playing NL €50 & NL €100 6max. I'm looking to start short stacking at similar stakes.

Interested in helping me out? Please send me a PM with some info about how long you have been playing SSS, your rate, and any other useful information you can think of.

Hi. Im lookin for a MTT/SnG coach who is profitable at the micro levels at PokerStars to help me out. Im currently playing micro levels due to bankroll management and the 2% rule :P
I play NLHE. Limits are $1-4 on PokerStars. Been playing online poker for about 2years now and only won one majour MTT on PartyPoker for $1300. I can run deep a few times but most of the time i'll bust out within the first hour or i'll dwindle my stack down to reach the bubble. I need to improve my tournament game bcos i find my self to nitty at times or folding instead of calling/shoving.

PM me on ur thoughts and prices. Thanks!

i moved it. it looks like you are looking for a coach. so, unsurprisingly i moved it to the 'coaching request thread' which is where we put such things so everyone can look for them in the same place. good luck.

cramming everybody's threads into one cluster **** thread doesnt really help anybody out. just to let you know. im sure the coaching advice thread is not that busy to where you need to considate people requesting coaching into one thread. and it makes it 100% harder for anybody to communicate or discuss coaching together. Is the staking forum like this? Absolutely not. Because its a little ridiculous. over half the coaching advice threads have been moved to this thread? why not just leave them where they are and let people discuss what they want to , with who they want to, in their own thread, pertaining to them and their situation. now if somebody wants to coach me. they have to read through an entire thread that doesn't pertain to me at all.

This thread should be in NVG. I don't really understand the mods response and handling of it so far. After reading through the thread in the Stoxpoker forum, it's clear that there was something shady going on and that Stox have a lot of questions to answer about their coach vetting procedures.

there tend to be only a few new posts in this thread each day. it's my understanding (from doing so myself and from hearing from lots of other coaches on here as well) that many coaches just check the new posts each day to see if anyone is looking for someone in their field. once you've read the thread it becomes pretty easy to keep up as 2p2 will tell you there are X unread posts or whatever.

if everyone's individual posts stayed that way, it would crowd up the forum pretty quickly and then people would be getting bumped off the front page and even off the first few. then they would bump stuff every few days saying 'anyone? please respond! etc etc' and it becomes a bumping war and people vying for attention. this was one of the issues with the forum before we made some changes a few months back, and it was definitely an issue we considered! it seems like there's never a perfect solution, unfortunately. are you aware of the poker coach listings forum (on the left menu bar it's listed right under this forum)? you can search out coaches who coach your specific stakes, and pm them or post in their threads asking for info. it should hopefully be a pretty easy way to get in contact with folks.

good luck,
bbb

Um, I'm pretty certain I posted this in the Jason Ho thread. Not sure how or why it was moved to this thread.

Looking for a coach for $55 guaranteed MTTs and below (mostly hourly $26s, NOT MTT SNGs) on Full Tilt. I've only been playing for three and a half months, but I'm ranked in the top half a percentile of OPR and desperately want to get better. I'm a very fast learner with strong mental math skills (math-oriented coaches would be a plus); I got my BA from Columbia in May. Still, I can't seem to beat $26 NLHE tourneys and will mostly be asking for advice on these, since they're the predominant type of game available.

My OPR: http://www.officialpokerrankings.com...8B15E.html?t=2

What's the usual arrangement for these things, offering half of my profit for a year? I'd be open to discussing hourly rates as well, but would probably rather do the former.

Best wishes, CML

really glad my discussion thread got derailed. just to let you know. i guarantee know coaches look at this thread. but keep moving every thread from the coaching advice forum. just because your a mod of a less active and maybe boring forum. doesnt mean you need to start consolidating threads to one. it really derails the discussion at all. i had some responses and now nobody even knows where to look to write back. and its cluttered with other topics.

Is anyone either able to give, or know of someone who can give, coaching for the mixed games, up to the 8-game mix. I'm a very regular Holdem player, but trying to learn the mixed games from near scratch for the Series.

I've had quite a few friends receive coaching through the use of this thread... I don't know why people are acting so hostile as it really is an effective method for requesting coaching... if threads are being shipped here when they shouldn't be that is another story but to say the thread is ineffective altogether is inaccurate.

Problem is, right now I dont have extra money for a coach, BUT if you are looking to turn into a coach, and can give me a hand I will be you reference til death do us part.

And If your help improves my game, of course you'll receive a share of the profits.

I play 4-5 hours a day, so if you really can improve my game now, you will receive a good chunk in profit share because im a BIG horse =p, we can obviously discuss the % and for how long this share will occur depending on the time you are willing to provide as a coach.

Also, I have HEM for graphs and reports, able to use Skype (not native english speaker but never had any issues being understood) and anything else that might be needed Im willing to get.

I know that this is not very likely to happen because people will feel like they are losing money by coaching for free and not playing. But I figured someone could be interested in taking someone "under his wing" and also get experience as a coach.

PM if interested.
This describes me perfectly. Any takers?
