Im looking for a MTT coach to help me improve my game.

I was an HU regular player (NL50-200) from 2013 until late 2015 before i decided to stop when they started removing HU tables (had over 700,000 hands @ 9bb/100). Since HU basically completely disappeared from online poker i am looking to switch to MTT (33$ and lower). Im looking for a coach that could help me with ranges and help to make the transition smoother and easier. I also do have over 50k games in SnG but most of them are HU.

Hello my name is Matthew and I am in search of a poker coach. Little bit about me, 29, love sport, family and friends, programming, fitness, going out to eat, and all the normal stuff poker players tend to like.

I have played poker on and off for quite some time, since around 2010-11. I have taken long breaks from poker (promised an ex I would stop playing for a year, randomly got in and out of it for months at a time).

But this past year I have met one of my best friends who plays 2/5- 5/10 online and up to 5/10 online, and he has been amazing for me since my break up about a year ago. and he has been a tremendous help! But... there's always a but... he keeps reminding me how stupid it is I don't have a coach!!

And he makes a immense amount of sense, everyone gets coaching all the time, everyone I have known at least that has achieved success in poker. Now about a year ago I really started to give poker a honest shot, started at the bottom, recorded all my sessions, live and online.

I have had some success!!! and I am super proud of it, but I know I am getting to a place where I can't be stagnant with my growth, I need to keep moving forward.

Over the last year I have played about 450-475 hours live at 1/2 - 1/3 (one 1/2/5 PLO session whoops)
And about 600? (rough guesstimate from my spreadsheet) hours online. I started at nl4 / nl5 on us sites and have worked up to nl20 - 25
And have played probably 500-600 mtts with pretty good results.

I have had to take money out of my poker accounts at times, which is quite frustrating ( did a coding bootcamp needed living expenses poof there goes 3k)

I am proud of my success but now I am looking for some true educated help and open to any coaching offers, I wasn't entirely sure where to post this so I just started here. If any mods or posters know of I better place I would greatly appreciate it.

Looking for someone with decent experience in 109$-320$ online mtt.

LF a coach that will turn me into a pro.

I have a part time job and spent a lot of my remaining time on poker.
Both studying, playing micro stakes online and playing live tournaments.

My goal is to become a semi-pro or pro player/coach.


My history

I've been playing poker on and off for more than 10 years now.
I've never been a big winner or loser, until I recently started playing again and started winning a lot in small live tournaments.


My current stats

At 2NL FR, I won for 2bb/100 over 8k hands
At 2NL 6-max Zoom I'm now down for -16bb/100 over 5k hands

I feel like I'm not playing horribly, definitely making some big mistakes here and there, but mostly just running really bad.

Live I'm currently crushing €20 buy-in single day tournaments for a 105% ROI over a small sample of 30 tournaments.


My current goals

I wanna keep playing the small live tournaments as much as possible and keep my ROI above 25% or 50% if possible (or 100% but that seems unlikely)

I'm taking shots at some higher buy-in tournaments about once a month

I wanna keep playing online to practice or if I start getting good results start playing online way more for profit


Online vs Live

Playing online is always going to be a means for me to be able to play & win at live poker. While I currently enjoy playing online, I do not see myself grinding for 4+ hours/day behind my computer for a long period of time.
Grinding online for months or maybe a year or two just to get in the practice and results would be fine though.

It's sitting at the live tables, meeting new people, being able to figure out what type of person someone is and what their likely playstyle and mistakes are by just looking at them, that's what I love about poker.

I'm good at reading people and learning/understanding (new) stuff.

I'm willing to spend between 10-30 hours each week learning & playing.

A good coach at nl100 , proven winner like you want will cost you aprox 100€ hour , do you have that amount to invest ?

Does not seem realistic tbh . Why dont you try to leanr from a nl25 or nl50 coach ?

I had a great coach, but that coach has since retired both from coaching and poker. The lessons were expensive but worth it paying me at least 5 times back what I paid over a two year period.However I found that while I can play well, there might be some fundamentals I'm missing (such as mathematically estimating ranges.)

I'd like to work with a coach on the following:
* Evaluating where I am in understanding all basic-intermediate poker concepts, as well as information on where I can study independently.
* Learning the best way to take notes actively during a tournament
* Warming up for a tournament
* Ranges, because even though my hunches are good, I'm often surprised by what people have

Then I'd like to do two or three tournament reviews to figure out what I did wrong/right and then take it from there.

I do have a Hendon Mob, sparse as it is, which I can send to prospective coaches.

EDIT: I'm not looking to be a pro, my goals are A) Being able to learn enough to teach others at a basic level, B) be a very talented amateur (I think I already am, but could use improvement) where I can be very competitive in multi-day tournaments and make day 2s more often.
