As always, excellent show. During the interview with Nolan, mention was made of Slim shooting some kind of angle on Daniel Negreanu, maybe involving kings or something? Maybe my google is broken, but I have been unable to find anything on this story. Anybody got some cliff notes?

Perhaps this could become a contest. I'd contribute 5$ to a prize pool for this..

Ah okay cool. I poked around but couldn't find it and didn't even know where to begin. Just looked around the MTT forum.

Can't wait to get home so I can listen!

Yeah, this is the thread. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/61...-event-458965/
Greg chimes in about the quads under quads hand at post #58, drops the 'been running bad lately' in post #66. Shaniac's 'pathetic' comments comes shortly after that.

Love that Alex brought up "Fooled by Randomness" The author also wrote "The Black Swan" which is another great discussion of the implications of statistics, and the left tail specifically. My only caution on these would be that Taleb is a little jaded and is pointing out that things like stocks are neither completely random NOR normal (in the statistical sense).

Great stuff as always, guys. Keep up the good "work"!

Another great show as always guys!

Great show as always, guys.

A comment on your take on Slim's no contest plea, though-

I want to preface this with the statement that I don't know any of the particulars specific to this case, and given Slim's reputation + his no contest plea, I'm assuming he did commit this crime. That being said..

I could completely understand someone in Slim's position entering a no contest plea if innocent. Look at it from his perspective. Even as an innocent man, there still stands a reasonable chance that he'll be convicted. What that chance is, no one can say, but it happens all the time. Put yourself in the shoes of a 75 year old man facing charges like this.

If he rolls the dice fighting this charge, and loses, he's pretty much knocked out of the tournament. He'll most likely die in prison. Facing that kind of risk, I wouldn't find his decision to plea bargain as an innocent man all that strange.
