I'm at the final table of a tournament, a guy is playing with a huge chip stack, just abusing the entire table, basically steam rolls the table ala Jamie Gold. He ends up winning the tournament easily. I search for him on Official Poker Rankings, and his recent results are amazing.
The guy is a losing player over the course of his play, but this past weekend he has finished: 1/1173, 2/1487, 47/1105, 8/158, 12/145, 6/367, 6/159 for scores of $2,269, $4,854, $27 (ok, maybe this one doesn't belong), $555, $278, $3,250, and $450. Last weekend, he finished 50/3057 for $1,388.
I've never been suspicious of online poker, and I'm not saying this guy is cheating, but is a hot streak like this actually possible? It seems like a person would have better odds at winning Powerball than making it that deep in so many fields in the span of a single weekend. Something about it seems off to me. In the two years listed on OPR prior to this hot streak, he only had 3 scores > $1,000 which were $1,275, $2,365, and $1,012.
