Another revision. The dark horse Georgiy Belyanin has just finished 10th in the $1500 8-game. I thought this was his first cash but it's his 2nd as he is playing under the name "Georgii Belianin". This will be revised with the next result listing.

Does anyone know if I am getting credit for Rep Porter? He was listed as Ralph Porter in the draft, but it looks like WSOP is calling him Rep Porter. Judging by my place in the standings, he is going to have to win everything he enters for me to have a chance, but I still want all the points I can muster!

I don't think you've been credited for him. He got 57.0 points for 50th in event 18 and 45.2 for 16th in event 13.

I have your total for your other 9 players at 292.50. With Rep's points I think it should be 394.70 (plus 41.9 points for Mermelstein's 678th finish in event #20).

I think the only other submission with Rep is by TheDarkKnight. May need to double check that total as well.

Since you paid 341 points for him, this has got to be Rep Porter. Corrected on the team/player listing and will be reflected in the next standings report.

OK, it finally dawns on me: the selection names must have been from last year's POY standings which was GPI. The GPI and WSOP names do not match in many cases. Good thing I'm not in Vegas this year so I have lots of time to do this.

With event #2 added (by hand - WSOP never made points available). Bigger chore will be event #10. Big lesson for 2018: create our own scoring system - don't rely on outside sources (even GPI had problems in previous years).

Wow! Third place in a $10k event gets 26 points, less than a min-cash in the Colossus.

Hope WSOP addresses this inequity in their scoring system in the future.

it's a tag team event. The entry fee and the prize money are split 4 ways and so are the points.

Yes, but a $2500 event that paid 11 times the buy in but awarded POY points as if it returned 2.9 times the buy-in.

Event #3 a $3000 event paid 34 times the buy-in and awarded 123 points for 3rd.

Event #7 a $2500 event that paid 20 times the buy-in and awarded 101 points for 3rd.

In other words, event #2 earned 26 points per $2500 spent while event #7 earned 101 points per $2500 spent.

I'm sorry, but no it's not.
3rd place in event #2 paid 106.12 points. PERIOD.
If something is accomplished by 1 person or by a team of 100 people is totally irrelevant: IT'S THE SAME ACCOMPLISHMENT! They both have the same value.
For POY, the entry fee is not split. The payout is not split. The full 106.12 points were paid out to Team Negreanu.
The fact that Daniel invited 3 others to share the points with him was totally his decision to make. He did it for his 25kfantasy draft which has a different scoring system.
The only gripe Daniel can have is that the scoring system for POY tag team events was kept a secret from the players. However, the way it was done turns out to be totally logical.
