**WSOP FANTASY LEAGUE 2017 - RULES & SIGNUP**

1. $20 entry (USD). You must be able to pay on paypal to enter.

2. The deadline for all payment and submission of your team is May 30th at 15:00 Pacific time. Any late submissions or late payments will be rejected.

3. You have a salary cap of 1500 points to spend. You must pick 10 players (no more, no less) from the list of players, or off, using at most 1500 points to form your team.

4. The player point values are determined from the last 3 years of the WSOP POY race. A weighted average of 15% 2016, 10% 2015 and 15% 2014 is used. Any player not on this list has a point value of 75.

5. If you want to change your team prior to registration closing then do so via the googledoc or if you are unable to do this then private message me your changes.

6. One entry per person. Do not send multiple entries even if you have multiple twoplustwo accounts.

7. Score will be based on your team's combined WSOP player of the year points. Only open events in Las Vegas will count towards your score.

8. Points for the Main Event will be determined upon the setting of the November Nine. Players in the November Nine will score points based upon their chip standing at the final table. (The player who is the chip leader will get points for 1st place and the short stack will get points for 9th place).

8. Points for the Main Event will be determined upon the conclusion of the event. This is a late edit because of the abolishion of the November Nine. (this is an edit as of 19/05)

9. Payouts will be awarded as follows: The payout total will be all money collected minus any fees incurred from paypal. There's no rake. We will be using the following payout structure, (payout percentages are listed first place, second place, etc)

28-36 players (45%, 25%, 18%, 12%)
37-45 players (40%, 23%, 16%, 12%, 9%)
46-54 players (38%, 22%, 12%, 11%, 8%, 6%)
55-63 players (35%, 21%, 15%, 11%, 8%, 6%, 4%)
64-72 players (33.5%, 20%, 14.5%, 11%, 8%, 6%, 4%, 3%)
73-99 players (32%, 19.5%, 14%, 11%, 8%, 6%, 4%, 3%, 2.5%)
100-150 players (31.5%, 19%, 13.5%, 10.5%, 8%, 6%, 4%, 3%, 2.5%, 2%)
151 + players (31%, 18.5%, 13%, 10.5%, 8%, 6%, 4%, 3%, 2.5%, 2%, 1.5%)

10. I will do my best to spot instances of exceeded salaries and give you a chance to correct it. If I notice and inform you that you need to make a change at least 24 hours before the registration deadline then you will have until the registration deadline to make the change (15:00 pacific time 30th May). If I notice and inform you that you need to make a change less than 24 hours before the registration deadline, but before the start of the first open event then you will have until the start of the first open event to make the change (15:00 pacific time 31st May). If you miss your deadline to change a player then you will have until 15:00 pacific time 1st June to select a player/players to remove from your team to fit within the salary cap. If you miss this deadline then I will select the fewest amount of players necessary to make your team valid. If you want to know more about what players I will pick to remove then just ask me and I'll happily explain my unbiased methods in detail.

11. If an exceeded salary is noticed after the start of the first open event (15:00 pacific time 31st May) then you will have 24 hours to choose a player/players to remove or a player/players will be removed for you.

12. There are no substitutes or side pools.

13. Here is the spreadsheet of player salaries

14. Please submit your team via this google form.

15. Please check the player names on the salary spreadsheet carefully and use the exact name when submitting your team. If selecting a player not on the salary list then a link to their hendonmob would be appreciated after their name to avoid any mistakes.

16. If you have any questions/queries then please feel free to ask either in thread or via private message.

I have already sent my team to Johnny Douglas and will not change it unless there are some extremely good reasons independent to what other people submit. i.e. Someone I have drafted makes it known that he will not attend the WSOP or similar. It's actually really quite unlikely that I'll change my team at all. I didn't change it last year even though there was good reason for me to do so.

Payment will be to that_pope who will make a post soon to give you all the details of how to do this.

I want to highlight a couple of rules that are the same as last year but still managed to get overlooked by some people:

-Your team is not restricted to players on the salary list. You may also draft anyone who is not on this list at a cost of 75 per player.

-You must have exactly 10 players on your team

-The deadline for entry is 24 hours before the start of the first open event. Within this 24 hours there will likely be some people who need to make changes to an invalid team. Do not discuss any drafted players until I say it is ok to do so.

-Please be aware that it's easy to assume a player is not on the salary list from a simple Ctrl+F but a lot of the time they will be on the list under a slightly different name than you were expecting. You might think it's an advantage to submit your team last minute with full info but be aware that this might result in a player having to be removed from your team when you unknowingly submit an invalid team last minute.

-If in doubt PM me with questions and I will answer them where appropriate. It's better to ask a silly question just to be certain of something than to make an error.

I don't have PayPal and have no intention of getting it in the future. Is there anyone entering who wouldn't mind me sending to them on Stars and then paying for me via Paypal? Obv, I'll send first.

Thanks

***PAYMENT INFO***

I will be collecting all the payments and payouts for the league. All payments and payouts will be through Paypal.

If you are interested in joining the league, please post in this thread to confirm your spot and send $20 on Paypal to: asupope (AT) gmail (DOT) com

Either list your 2p2 name in the payment, or send me a message on here so I can link your Paypal name/email to your 2p2 name.

Disclaimer: If you want to arrange someone else to pay for you through Paypal, that is up to you, but remember I am paying out on Paypal as well. I will not facilitate any payouts outside of Paypal. You will either need to trust that same person to send back to you if you win, or then sign up for Paypal at that point to make sure you get your moneys.

Note: If you pay prior to the deadline and don't submit a pick to xander in time, I will refund the payment. xander and I will cross check our lists hopefully in the first week to see who entered who didn't pay (sorry, you aren't participating) and who paid but didn't submit an entry (sorry, you aren't participating but you will get your money refunded).

Warning: I WILL NOT be hounding people for payments. If you submit a team to xander and don't pay by May 30th at 15:00 Pacific time, you aren't participating.

Any payment questions, please post here as a first step, and if I can't answer it here, we will take it to messages.

Good Luck!

Ohhh baby. In.
Should be fun this year. Looking forward to it and with coming up with a team.

And maybe Hussain/someone will run another higher one too this year?

I'm with PeteBlow though, and I think that being able to sort out Stars payments would be great, and would definitely result in more people participating, than requiring to use Paypal. (PayPal also charges a conversion fee from other currencies like £ or ‎€, which is less than ideal.)
04-11-2017 , 12:36 PM
If you want to step up and contribute, go for it. I don't have Stars.

Forgot to include in my post but all payments will be in American $. I will reject any payments made in other currencies.

I personally can't really, as I won't have time/ability (with going for the very start of the series and grinding it there for the full time, so couldn't send funds back when out there etc.)
But I think that we should be able to find a way to make it work.

In and Paid.

Thanks to all for the effort in putting this together. Having a sweat during the series for recreational players is money well spent.

If I can have the foresight to not pick a player boycotting the series, I may have better results this year.

Please message me with any important inside information!

The payments usually come slow to begin with. I'll post my first list around early May. But I have received both Rdsxfan and xander so far.
04-13-2017 , 05:25 AM
I'm in. Just sent my $20 via PayPal. Will send my picks in early May. Thanks for organizing!

In/Sent. Enjoy my monies.

I'm rich!

First time participating in the league! Picked and sent! Let's hope for some run good.

Is the bolded correct? Or did you mean 5% 2014? If it is correct why is 2014 weighted more than 2015?

Is there a link someone has to the "open" events? I know the ladies/casino emp/senior events don't count, are there any others?

Thanks xander and pope in advance and for running this
04-14-2017 , 09:39 PM
The bolded is correct.

In 2015 they changed the POY system and awarded a lot more points.

2014 POY race was won with 923 points
2015 POY race was won with 2251 points
2016 POY race was won with 2195 points

A greater % than you might have expected for 2014 seemed to adjust for this.

Here's the tournament schedule: http://www.wsop.com/tournaments/

As far as I can tell the Casino Employees (Event #1), Seniors (Event #31), Super Seniors (Event #35) and Ladies (Event #70) are the only closed events but there might be some other things to consider. Online tournaments might not award POY points if players don't want to out their usernames and I'm not sure how the tag team points are awarded but I'm pretty confident that all members of the team get some points (albeit fewer than for a solo tournament).

Hope that helps.
04-15-2017 , 11:31 AM
I'm paid. Will get the picks in shortly. Thanks for running this, guys.
04-15-2017 , 05:42 PM
As there are 2 tag team events this year - one of them being a 10k - maybe we should also establish what we'll do this year for those.
At last year the points were added, then taken away, then partially added again but it was too late etc.
04-15-2017 , 06:30 PM
Whatever the WSOP/GPI decides for POY points is how we will score this

Last year when they changed the points, I changed them too and would do the same again this year if that happened again.
04-15-2017 , 08:58 PM
Paid. Now I just need my workload to calm down so I can spend some time looking at the player spreadsheet (which is funny, since I usually pick a team that has nothing to do with any real method).

IN! What a great idea. Love it. Will be following the WSOP leader boards much more closely now. When I play, I'll try not to knock out any of my horses!
