Re: What countries have you travelled to and what is your Top 5 wishlist

I have been blundering my way through:

France (my native country)
UK (where I live)
Germany
Holland
Spain
Italy and Vatican City (officially a sovereign country)
Belgium
Austria
Luxembourg
Hungary
Czech Republic
United States
Canada
Japan
Singapore
Indonesia
Malaysia

17/18 countries, it's less than I thought. East Germany (GDR) does not count I guess, it was an independent country at the time I visited it though.

Wish list:

1- Romania (planned)
2- Montenegro/Croatia (almost planned)
3- Serbia, Bulgaria, Poland and Ukraine (very likely soon, as part of the same trip as 1 and 2 and probably a year long or 3 or 4 extended trips)
4- Argentina
5- Australia
6- Colombia
7- Iran

1- 2- and 3- will likely happen next year. I'm planning to travel through Eastern Europe and finance this by playing on the road. I understand the region is pretty cheap so I really only need to make $1K/month to cover the basics and probably $2K when on the road.

As a Frenchman I can also go to Canada and hail: "Vive le Quebec libre!"

Re: What countries have you travelled to and what is your Top 5 wishlist

1,Papua New Guinea (Probably the most exotic place on the planet that I can think of. Hey there are still people out there who never had contact to any other people).

2,South Africa(Dont know much about africa but I have heard many great things about SA. It seems to have a sick nature and modern cities with normal western standards)

3,Bora Bora Islands(I always wanted to make a vacation in these bungalows over the water where the floor is made out of glass )

4,Madagascar(Pretty sick nature. I think a very high percentage of animals and plants there only grow in that region which makes it unique)

5,Thailand(Sex tourism any one?)

I know that there are a lot of threads about SA but since you asked I thought I shoot up some questions

How easy is it to get some blow in SA?
How dangerous is it to meet girls and hook up?
Can I go to townships during day?
Is there a place where the water is not as cold? I have heard that the water at the beaches tend to be extremly cold.
How is the nightlife?
What kind of food options do you have?
Where would you rather live and why(cape or joburg)?
Can I play 5/10 and higher at the casinos there? If yes how high is rake and how good are the dealers?
How much would I pay for a nice penthouse in the city or a big house with pool , I know it depends but are there any good options or good internet sites to search for?

As someone that hasnt used it Im probably wrong one to ask, but that said, I know people that use and im sure it will be obtainable.
Dangerous in what way?
Yes
The east coast, near Durban has great beaches for swimming. Beaches near Cape Town not so much.
Great.
Anything you can think of, burgers, pizza, pasta, curries, Braai, Potjiekos.
Cape Town AINEC - weather better, beaches, safer, more laid back.
Think 1 casino in Joburg runs a game that big. Rake 5% up to $20 and dealers are bad to ok.
http://www.privateproperty.co.za In the suburbs where I stay u can rent a nice house with pool for anything from $1000-$2000 a month. $2000 would get you a sick house. In City you prob looking at $2000-$3000. This is for Cape Town. Dont know Joburg as its a ****hole.

Re: What countries have you travelled to and what is your Top 5 wishlist

I've not traveled that much, even when I lived in Europe (well I did travel a fair bit within country).

1. The Netherlands
2. Denmark (Copenhagen and Legoland!)
3. Belgium
4. Canada
5. Poland (lived there for 8+ years)
6. Cuba
7. USA
8. UK
9. Germany

I really liked all these places; Germany is last because of some harrowing experiences there, but I liked most of the people I met there, even though I spoke almost no German. The Netherlands: met friendly people; everyone spoke English (and German); loved Groningen - a beautiful town; was the easiest country to hitchhike in.

Wish list:

1. Spain
2. Uruguay
3. Australia
4. Portugal
5. Croatia (Dubrovnik mostly)

Top 5 wishlist for countries I haven't been to
