Butch Patterson: Private Dick
This one's great, there are wrap-up shows at the end of the first two seasons.

Re: TV Show Marathon recommendations

Probably going to binge on a few of these myself, lots of good suggestions so far, surprised nobody has thrown Suits in to the mix yet. Im in UK, but I think series 2 is just starting in the US? Could be wrong.

have you watched Undeclared? It's very similar to freaks and geeks... practically like a sequel almost.

it's got seth rogan and jason segal... and some other people from freaks and geeks are in a few episodes also.

other famous actors also make cameos as well such as: Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Jenna Fischer, Amy Poehler and Ted Nugent.

i think that freaks and geeks is a better show, but i think that undeclared is funnier.

I watched Dexter marathon style and it was great! Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, and Boardwalk Empire are my favorites.

I've seen Arrested Development already mentioned. Highly recommend.

Also Weeds is has a great first few seasons. (goes a little downhill for the last two imo)

Re: TV Show Marathon recommendations

I just did a marathon watch of The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret. It's only 2 seasons (or series, I can't decide if it's really an American or British show) of 6 short episodes each so you can get through the whole thing really quick.

David Cross did pretty well in the Comedy Madness so any fans of his who haven't seen it should try to. It's hilarious.

Also, if you are into SciFi then you HAVE to watch Battlestar Galactica.

Re: TV Show Marathon recommendations

Firstly, thanks for all the great recommendations. I just finished the 2 seasons of Game of Thrones and really enjoyed them. Breaking Bad is next up. Sounds like The Wire should be in the on deck circle.

Re: TV Show Marathon recommendations

heres a couple of great ones not mentioned (or hardly mentioned)

Oz
Deadwood (especially eps w David Milch commentary if youre into bts stuff)
Rome
The Shield
Battlestar Gallactica (even if youre not a SCiFi guy, hot girls)
The Larry Sanders Show (a little dated perhaps but 90 eps, always funny, great for marathon)

I also agree you cant go wrong with The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men.

Re: TV Show Marathon recommendations

+1 to Oz. I also liked '6 feet under', but it gets pretty depressing, pretty fast.

Best (and worst) ending to a show ever.

Re: TV Show Marathon recommendations

Strongly recommend Justified seasons 1-3. That's only 39 eps total. Season 2 is the best to date, but all 3 are awesome.

As someone noted about the Shield, it's ideal for a marathon. The eps steadily build to the season finale. Some of the best acting and writing I've ever seen on TV. Trust me, it's worthwhile.

Also +1 for Arrested Development.
