Re: Suggest a guest or segment
interviewing known pros is somewhat cool - but they rarely offer real insight into their play or strategies. lately, it seems all about promotion - their energy drink, web site, book, video game, tv show, etc.
since playing is "read" dependent, they often hate to speculate on how to play a hand based on limited info. yet watching them play on a show such as HSP is amazining insightful. asking them about their thinking during a specific hand is best - this would be a really cool segment - Point/Counterpoint. Pick a critical hand from a recent tourney/ring game, invite BOTH players to talk out their thinking (maybe get them both on the phone at the same time)
the stuff I find most interesting is how they learned the game, how they got started, how they built their bankroll, how they figured out whether or not they should continue to play, what was the most important lesson they learned, how they continue to improve, etc.
would love to hear interviews with the guys who play/played with no major sponsorships/spotlight - Eskimo Clark, Capt Tom, Andy Beal, Micky Appleton, Paul Magriel, Paul Philips, Clonie Gowand (lol, just kidding), Cindy Violette, Amarillo Slim, Antonio and Phil Laak (good interview)...
Toto Leonidas, Chris Bigler, Randy Jensen, Vinny Vihn, Barry Schulman...etc.
otherwise - y'all are doing a great job. i do miss the music from the old shows...

Love him or hate him, but Oliver Tse's posts are great reads. Maybe you get him on the show

Re: Suggest a guest or segment
I'd really like to do one of these, because interviews with/for non poker players are getting tedious

Amen to the o/8 crowd. Ray Zee would be good for that side of the house. Or Buzz from the o/8 forums. I've got as much good advice about my game from Buzz on 2+2 (indirectly) as I have from anyone.

Re: Suggest a guest or segment
I didn't listen to the earlier version of the show- the 2+2 era is all I know, and I'm enjoying it so far. I realize what you guys have to work with, but I can't say I love the interviews over the phone- the audio quality is rough at best. I like the interviews conducted in the Bahamas, but I know that tournament coverage is supposed to be an exception. How about banking some interviews in person, covering general topics and then near broadcast date, doing a supplemental phone interview covering timely issues?
As far as guest suggestions, I'd like a 75/25 mix of Poker champions and authors, if you score a twofer guest, even better (Dan Harrington). I see that Poker Stars is sponsoring you-fine. I'm most interested in hearing from Card players, but if you occasionally have someone talk about Mouse Poker, I'll bear with you.

Would be cool to give some weekly updates on the Supernova elite race. There is a big thread on it in internet gambling, and scottyy, a Pokerstars VIP guy, updates regulary!

Did you guys ever discuss the KGC's "ruling" over the AP scandal? Are there any other online poker rooms that they oversee? Any more word on the UltimateBet rumors of inproprieties?

Re: Suggest a guest or segment
Questions for Ray Zee podcast:
1) Why have you stayed out of the poker limelight for so long?
2) Did it bother/flatter you to be generally considered a made-up person based on works by other "experts"?
3) Are you made up?
4) Why did you disappear from the public eye after writing your book?
5) Why are you coming out now?
6) Would you ever consider writing a follow-up to your hi-lo bible with a pot- and no-limit version? (Highly sought-after content.)
7) Will you ever play in the World Series? (You're considered the God of hi-lo split games, after all.)
8) Now that 2+2 has tracked you down and there's a voice attached to the name now, will you be making more public appearances/doing more interviews and/or playing more big tourneys?
9) Do you really eat beaver? Etc., etc., etc.
