I have a "must do" segment suggestion. I am a blogger on several forums and on practically every forum I read there are way to many posts that amount to "whining about bad beats".
I am not a pro but even I know that there are a million reasons to make a play that have nothing to do with hand strength. My own personal feeling is that online poker, because of it's widespread availability and relative anonymity, lends itself to whining by every whining little creep around. The perspective is based on the fact that most of the "bad beat","I've gotta vent" blogs usually don't have enough information to critically analyze what happened and the tone is frequently that the whiner only plays AA, KK, AK and QQ on the button and if he's beat it's a "bad beat".
I think no pro should talk publicly about tactical poker unless he has a section on indicators, other than hand strength, that form a valid basis to play.
If I had a dollar for every whiner I heard screaming calling people donkeys, on the way to the losers lounge after playing weak hands, then getting caught going all in UTG with Jacks - I'd be Bill Gates.
Maybe if more discussion made it clear that poker is situational these jokers would have a better understanding that Ace rag is not a lock and a better understanding that much of what people call the play of a "donkey" lies in their own lack of knowledge of the game.
