Yesterday the first Bitcoin exchange shut down unexpectedly. Hundreds of millions tied up. They had a brilliant idea before anyone else, had banking accounts seized, poor customer service, and now we're offline.

It sounds familiar, doesn't it.

August 15 2010, black friday. Full tilt poker goes full ****** over the course of several months. It started with payment processor issues and still hasn't ended.

When black friday hit US poker players learned about Bitcoin. That's how I learned about bitcoin.

I feel like you guys would have some great insights here having followed the FTP saga for as long.

A weird, and very unlikely commonality is that Mt. Gox started as an online "Magic: The Gathering" exchange. (Magic The Gathering Online eXchange).

Yeah, its true the exchange was intended for cards but it never materialized. Bitcoin came along and was the only thing Empty Gox ever traded.

I figure a lot of poker players are into day trading as well, and for the US group some will have turned to bitcoin to continue playing.

Now its starting to look like Mark Karpeles stole all the money himself. This is a pretty big story. It might snowball even more than FTP.

Hey guys,

I have been an active fan of the show for some time now, and i had an interesting idea for a segment called "WHY DO WE CARE?!"

Where every week 2p2ers ask 3-5 questions about you guys personally and you answer them on the show. My self personally, i have to connect with the hosts of any type of show, podcast, radio etc to really be engaged. Hearing stories like "Mikes biggest degen moment, Adams current poker BR, etc" might be interesting and fun.
