FYP.

America's Hat FTW.

Or America is Canada's butt. Either one works.

Shame on A_Shupick. As a canadian, I am disgusted by such an insensitive and indecent joke. You do not have to agree with or believe in Canada, but I think it shows an immense amount of hubris to act like you are so much better than Canada. I hardly see why Canada deserves to be laughed at or mocked, and I demand an apology A_Shupick

If America is Canada's Butt then what or who is Canada's Tampon or does Canada no longer menstruate? Is Mexico America's Tampon but training to be America's gynecologist? I struggle with mixed metaphors as i do with mixed adult beverages - our college education system does not include the mixing of metaphors in any curricula.

Obviously the $8,500,000 million is peanuts compared to the money he stands to inherit by impressing the in-laws. Nash made the right play ev wise end of story.

As long as you ignore Quebec.

(I'm from Montreal so I can say that, right?)

Nope, I am from Toronto and am somehow offended by this.

this doesn't make sense to me.

do you have tons of respect for anyone that believes anything that may incurr a significant cost? or just specifically religious beliefs?

Re: Shame on Adam Schwartz

I think Adam was just in complete shock that someone would put up so much money to play in a tournament knowing this situation would come up...It's like signing up and being like okay let me check out this schedule real quick. Drop 10k, max I can make is about 40-50k, because I am going to get blinded out by my wife's religious views...All I have to do is beat over 6,000 people and I get a 4-500% return on my money...It is just completely ridiculous. This guy's thought process is just different than most since he KNEW this would come up. His religious views have not been slammed whatsoever. He did this for her, not Him.

(an argument I read on the web , you have to think about that one for a few seconds .......)
This could crosspost to the Comedy Madness thread. This idea is straight out of a Carlin routine on his Class Clown album:

"Once a week, Father Russell would come in for 'Heavy Mystery' time. And you'd save all your weird questions for Father Russell. In fact, you'd make up strange questions. You'd take a whole week thinking up trick questions for Father Russell. 'Hey Father! If God is all-powerful, can he make a rock so big that he himself can't lift it?'"

I'm surprised this thread has now gone into a second page.

However, I WOULD like to use Nash as a spokesperson against some of the religious groups that oppose poker (not that they're the only ones against our game, but part of the opposition to poker is on moral ground). Here's a guy so devout that he would forgo the possibility of life-changing money to observe his faith... yet he still plays poker.
