AFAIK it isn't possible. It has to reboot the phone and erase it to the proper install.

The music you are worried about losing is on your iPod? Or are you worried about the iPod overwriting your iTunes library? It should copy your music from the phone when you sync, but that could be a feature introduced in a later revision, or perhaps only for content you purchased on the phone.

I have a mac utility for moving stuff of an iPhone/touch, but this looks like a possible way to pull files off:

http://code.google.com/p/iphonebrowser/

There are some commercial tools (many of which are constantly spamming here), but I can't speak to them.

Thanks. I'm going to update my iPod and I'll report back if it fixes the problem for reference of others who may have a similar problem.

I wouldn't feel too bad about having to pay the $5.99 or whatever for the 3.0 upgrade with 4.0 just around the corner. Despite what Apple lets on, there have been some releases that just aren't up too scratch, particularly when they roll out a new feature (like on phone store).

Hmm well according to my system the 2.2.1 was the most up to date version for the iPod touch.

I just had to d/l the podcasts via iTunes and sync.

Thanks,

Thanks,
really? it's all working now?

it may not show up in update as it's a paid update, and all iPod touches should support 3.x

but if it's all good, then no need to shell out the $9.99, just wait a few weeks for 4.0.

I thnk those shows are being hosted somewhere else. Bunner/Adam know where you can find them and could probably chime in. The one where Jamie Gold calls himself the Kobe Bryant of poker is a fan favorite.

I've also been using Juice, and having the same problems - but only with the Pokercast, all other feeds are fine. For some reason, the file isn't closing after it has finished downloading, so it's unreadable. I've been manually going to the RSS page and directly downloading the file, so it isn't the biggest problem in the world, but if anyone has an idea (other than switch RSS Feed Receivers), I'm all ears.

Podcast d/l leaves mp3 file ext off

I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who has had this problem. I download a number of different podcasts, from different sites using the rss feed. The 2+2 podcast always downloads with the mp3 file ext missing. None of my other d/l's have this problem. The fix is simple--just a rename does it--not a big deal, just inconvenient. Any ideas what might be causing this? I suspect it's something to do with my setup since I can't find any earlier posts mentioning this. (I use firefox & win 7; I have pretty much of a stock set up)

Does firefox have a built-in RSS aggregator?

Which feed are you using? Is it http://pokercast.s3.amazonaws.com/

Re: Podcast d/l leaves mp3 file ext off

It says I'm getting it from:
http://pokercast.twoplustwo.com/podcast/155.mp3

I have to plead ignorance on RSS, I don't know enough on how it works, and even less on how to troubleshoot a problem. I just remember clicking on a RSS feed button on the site, Firefox puts it up on the toolbar, and when a podcast becomes available, I can see it in the list, and I go ahead and download it. That's the way it has been working for all sites. It's only 2+2 that dl's the file sans the mp3 ext. It must be me, as there seems to be no other one having same problem. I guess I'll just have to live with it...

Churlock: Next time I'm able to, I'll look into it for you. Windows7 tilts the hell out of me, but when I boot it up to test something, I'll see if I can replicate the problem.

Help an old guy listen :)

I'm no longer in my twenties anymore and I don't have my own personal Bunner. I switched to an Android phone which means no itunes for me.

Is this the accurate url to direct the podcast player to capture episodes?:

http://pokercast.twoplustwo.com

so far I'm not having any luck. I'm using doubleTwist in case anyone is familiar with the program and app.

Re: Help an old guy listen :)

I have an HTC Aria and I use Google Listen for podcasts.
It is available in the Android Marketplace or here http://listen.googlelabs.com/

Once you have it installed on your phone, search for "pokercast", then you can subscribe.

I have an Android phone but just download it manually every week. I use that direct link that's been passed around the forums lately
