One Dog sir... We let her pick her own name when we recused her form the shelter. she originally had some wacky name they gave her at the shelter and she never responded to it, I kept trying many many names over the course of the follow week and finally I happened upon the name Newman(for paul newman) and her ears perked up and she came immediately... hence, we let her pick her own name.

I dont have any pics, but about 3 years ago i found a damn near dead German Sheppard . I saw this dog several times roaming the streets,I once saw her feeding off a dead dog in the middle of the street. I searched for the dog for about 3 months, I finally found her behind a church just about dead i gave her some food and water, but she wouldnt let me touch her.

After feeding her for a few days she still didnt have the energy to walk. Me and my friend got a blanket and finally pushed her onto it and loaded her onto the bed of my truck and brought her to my house. I fed her daily and she still couldnt walk and looked very unlikely to live. She wouldnt let me touch her for about 3 months, hiding underneath a shed in the backyard. After about 4 months of feeding her she would follow me around my lake but still wouldnt let me pet her, and kept a distance. Then one day im out sitting by the lake and she came to me and started rubbing against my leg like a cat. She now follows me around everywhere i go. She still will not let anyone else touch her but is never aggressive in any way.
Her name is Weezy and she turned out to be a great dog.

I love these kind of stories. Always reminds me of the movie "Hachiko". I hope you won't die anytime soon though

My wife and I specialize in fostering for our local animal shelter for underage kittens. Not only is it a lot of work and ridiculously adorable, it's really good for poker karma IMO Here are some pics that I'd thought I'd share. Enjoy!

I have a black lab named Sally. She's getting old. Maybe she's 12. She's super loyal, kinda dumb (her idea of playing fetch is I throw the ball once and then she runs off with it and chews it) She's awesome in her own way though:





On the other hand, I used to have a Border Collie mix named Pearl. She was the stone cold nuts of a dog. While Renowife is working on it, from a pure longevity standpoint, to this day Pearl remains the most loyal female I have ever known.
