I think during Bobbofitos interview, he got a text message on his iPhone. I had headphones in, and thought it was mine. it tilted the hell out of me when I couldn't figure out what had made the noise.

I think it also explained the drop outs/interference during the interview. stupid iphones.

These young poker instructors (like the ones from Leggo) are clearly super-intelligent, but the thing that puts me off signing up with one is that whenever they speak, they seem to go at 100mph and struggle to *clearly* articulate stuff to people who aren't in some sort of buddist-like focus. I think it would confuse me rather than instruct me half the time!

Best episode yet. I think your ratings went up the instant Huck Seed starting talking about testosterone balance. GAaa, you guys - testosterone balance (hormone levels) ....doesn't need 'daily sex' to stay level, but if you think it will affect your game play, go for it. About as likely to be balanced if you get a decent amount of sleep, keep a cap on the caffeine intake and (as Huck recommended) get a bit of exercise between poker matches, but who am I to tell you what's good for you!

Since listening to that interview last week I have been beating myself off to some of the photos in the BBV4Life forum whilst playing. And now you tell me its all in vain? Sheesh....

I've noticed I have my best sessions within a few hours of "getting my poisons out."

Didn't anyone remember getting the 'abstinace' speech from a coach (usually football) before a 'big game' because he didn't want the team to be all mellow and relaxed? Well, sure, if you aren't as inclined to be an aggressive rough tough player the team might lose the game - hence coach wanted you to save the testosterone edge for the game. However, WHAT does that have to do with keeping a cool head during a poker game? Getting plenty of rest, eating light, holding down on the alcohol and sugar....blah blah blah helps you focus he could have said and no one would have listened. Tell poker fans that more sex = less tension and people translate that to better game play.

Huck Seed is a pretty mellow guy anyway. So, sure, maybe it is easier to concentrate on calculating pot odds when your mind isn't as distracted by other 'needs'. However, he was talking about resisting the Helmuth tilt act and other over the top behaviors that he feels is brought on by testosterone imbalance and being overweight.

Huck is a god! As for phone interviews -- I often have difficulty with the sound quality.

If you are not already doing so you should put the phone call on a separate track and try massaging the audio of the track before mixing.

Actually, regular phones (land lines and mobile) have very low quality audio. Phones are, at best, 8KHz sample rate with 8-bit samples. Internet calls are not saddled by 30+ year old design parameters and have the possibility of being much higher quality, although latency is often much greater.

At least a few of the sound like they've been cell phone interviews too. Those have their own problems as well. Rob sounded like his cellie was cutting out.
