I don't get it why you are having such a problem with the Poker Hall of Fame. Of course it's a popularity thing that very few people have a say over, but so what? I was laughing at you differentiating it from the Baseball Hall of Fame, which is also basically a popularity contest in which "the baseball writers association of america" (old boys network) decide who to put in. In the media there are hours and hours of discussion whether e.g. Pete Rose or Barry Bonds belong in it ("well, if he hadn't pissed off Bud Selig...") and there you have, as you said, statistics. Come on, it's a fun thing, where people celebrate a little and reminisce about old stories. Whether you have a positive ROI doesn't matter, it's whether you can weave a good story (Tom McEvoy), that should be especially clear on the same podcast you had Limon on.

It was a bit of a stunt. Before that I was a reg in the 20-40plo at commerce. When I moved to the Bike to host the 5-5-10-(mississippi) plo game the commerce regs said thae game would be to shallow to interest them so I guaranteed the game would play deep and they would be covered. I wanted the 100k to look really big as sort of a jab at the commerce regs, I changed to a rack of $1000s later.

It worked, really put the Bike game on the map and I even won $26k that day which was just icing on the cake.

Enjoyed the episode and Limon's interview. Though I'd rather deal with the audio issue and solid interview again, rather than listen to robocop repeat ad nauseam his hand history over and over again and over and over and over again on Limon's podcast.

Adam's running out of gas story reminded me of the last time I ran out of gas.

Wife and I were coming back from Quebec (to Westend Ottawa). I decided to push it to go to a station that gave both Aeroplan points and was cheap. It didn't work out. We broke down on the side of the divided highway. Thankfully we still had roadside assist from our new (at the time) car and the police officer that came thought my dedication to Aeroplan points was noble.

No. It was ****ing cold that night too, and a Friday/Saturday night so roadside assist was slow. It was a divided/walled highway, so we couldn't get out either.

The cop did his round and then came back. He let us sit in his car which was warm (and appreciated). He made fun of me pretty well, so that took the edge off the blast of **** I was gonna get at home.

Loving the new format like TC as co host good guests this week ( playing catch up) enjoyed the TC interview with tbf last week v interesting.

Adam delivering as host as well despite obvious teething problems this is still my go to podcast and I listening to a lot of podcasts whilst grinding.

I'm waaaaay behind in catching up on the podcasts, and just finished listening to this episode. Adam asked about Scotty Lundberg from the 5-10 game at Hollywood Park back in the day. By coincidence I ran into Scotty at a private game last night in LA. He hadn't heard the episode so I played him the part with Adam's questions. Scotty thought it was hilarious. He said he was definitely drunk while playing back then (but he doesn't drink so much these days). For me, it was a weird small world juxtaposition of the pokercast and real life.
