Sam Grafton was another engaging , funny and interesting British guest but please someone coach him on reducing the ' you knows ' it became increasingly annoying throughout the interview.

Agree. No idea how anyone could complain about that interview. Domda needs to be sentenced to a Top Gear UK marathon for cultural awareness. We should all join him.

... Bribe means something specific and this line is actually slanderous and if this were any other media source I guarantee you Adelson, schmuck that he is, would have already filed a suit for liable damages

[\QUOTE]

You keep using that word. A don't think it means what you think it means.

Ooops, my bad, and I thought it was the difference between slander and libel I was more likely to screw up (as i often do)

It's vacation time so caught up on a serious backlog of Pokercasts. Being a Brit overseas I really enjoyed the Sam Grafton interview - didn't notice the 'You knows' but it's part of the vernacular so I am probably used to it. Never really heard much about Sam before but just seen him on my gf's Stars table (he was playing the $11c). I got over-excited only for her to call his squeeze shove with AT and double him up (he had 77).

I loved the Phil G and Joe T pokercast too. Keep up the good work fellas!

Editorial license, conveys your point and isn't really infering explicit quid pro quo

[\QUOTE]
No inference? From Adelson's contribution? By saying "money can buy a bill," does that NOT suggest MJ believes an explicit quid pro quo takes place?

Yeah, but given the litany of Mastercard commercials and adages it could be seen as a twist on words/joke, and given prior comments about me not listening generously I leaned on the side of editorial license.

Finishing off last week's ep, the Commodore Ballroom sounds much like a venue in Portland called the Crystal Ballroom. Same deal. It was originally an early 1900s ballroom that's now a concert venue. I saw Xavier Rudd there almost five years ago. Also similar to your description of the Commodore, if people jumped up and down in unison the floor would perceptibly sag.

Here's a write-up I did about the experience at the time:
Quote:
Checking Out the Music Scene in Portland

I split a bottle of Ken Wright's Abbot's Claim Pinot Noir (Oregon pinots, FTW) at dinner tonight with _____ and clan _____. But I wasn't ready to go into pumpkin mode afterward, so I looked in the local free weekly and found a show at the Crystal Ballroom just around the corner and ended up seeing this guy: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Xavier-Rudd-Official/7522310670

This guy rocks multiple didgeridoos and plays lead guitar in this Australian-outback-meets-70s-funk ensemble. A couple of the songs also had hints of same kind of African pop sensibilities that bands like Vampire Weekend have given a voice. And, of course, I was partial to the percussionist who would occasionally step from behind the drum kit, strap on his djembe, and represent hand drumming.

As the crowd clamored for an encore, they started jumping and stomping the floor in unison. Let me put it this way. There were something like 1,500 people in there. This was a hardwood floor that used to be the ballroom of a hotel. This building is 93 YEARS OLD! I started having visions of the mayhem as emergency vehicles came to extract people out of the collapsed building. Luckily the building did not come down around us.

Politics really is the worst. I keep getting reminded why I never even attempt to get interested in it.
