Yeah, I was the same way, which surprised me a little bit — I'd heard Ivey on PokerWire and PokerRoad back in those days, so I already knew how comfortable he is with long-form interviews on those rare occasions he actually grants them. But in those cases, he already had a longtime friendship with everyone there. This was a different situation, yet everyone eased right into it.
I'll even admit crossing my fingers (not literally) that Ivey would voluntarily continue the interview, sort of like Barry Greenstein did a few years ago. Jerry Seinfeld did this on Rich Eisen's podcast recently. Those guys are huge
Seinfeld fans and were beyond thrilled to talk to him. So when the interview was done, and Jerry started asking THEM questions... well, suffice to say Rich and his co-hosts are still buzzing about it two episodes later.
Anyway, +1 to most of the posts here: great job by everyone involved, and I hope this means we might hear from him again on the Pokercast someday.
