Probably would have been the most racist thing I've ever done on the show but it was all I could go to not drop a Monty Python 'why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly King' when Alex reminded us that he too was French.

I'm listening to this now, not a huge fan of the Pistorius stuff upfront, but whatever.

I'm grunching the NVG thread, but here is a HOWTO on how to cheat any game center game, easily followed by someone with virtually no programming, networking or security experience:

http://mitmproxy.org/doc/tutorials/gamecenter.html

In this example they're setting the high score for super mega worm, but the approach is the same.

I agree. I think our reaction to the absurdity of his defence should have been tempered by the tragedy itself. Bad form by me IMO.

Haven't heard it yet (it's next in the queue on my car iPod) but this is why I felt I was able to get so absorbed in the Manti Te'o story -- no real victims, no one hurt except for those directly involved. Things like Pistorius, or Chris Dorner, or Phil Spector, or OJ... the circus that surrounds those stories often belies the deep human tragedy at the center.

Anyway, sound unheard (you know, the audio version of sight unseen), good on you for acknowledging it.

Not sure they will find him guilty. Not sure of anything after OJ.

When ever I hear Mike say 'Global poker index' it sounds to me like 'Globo-poker index' and makes me think of Ben Stiller in 'Dodgeball'.

I hope the Gpi isn't that evil.

Yip.

I also agree that there is a need to be sensitive to the victim and family but I have to say I was pleased to find two people who find his story as ridiculous as I do and I dont think there is any shame in saying that so I wouldn't feel too bad if I were you.

As a South African its embaressing to hear him and his lawyers try and justify his story because of our high crime rates. Its even more embaressing that it seems like some people are starting to believe him.

I'll concede - we have an above average crime rate and thats not a good thing - but please believe me when I say its nowhere near bad enough to justify people going on a rampage every time they hear a noise from the bathroom at night. Obviously thousands of significant others would be dieing every night if that were the case!
