Purity Ring are getting big hype in the blogosphere and solid mainstream media in our home country of Canada(where they are from) but they are still pretty unknown as it's just their first album. Megan is cuter when she doesn't wear those glasses(shameless laser surgery plug ldo).

They are starting a headlining tour in a few weeks, so you must have seen them either opening for Dirty Projectors or at Pitchfork Festival.

Pretty sure you're thinking of Strempz finishing runner up not Green?

Strempz was 1997, Green was 1981 (Doyle of course was 1980).

bingo. In 1981 NBC jumped on board to start showing their version of the WSOP final table. A year earlier Stu Ungar would win his first of 3 Main Events and NBC was there capture to his second.

I think it was a one hour hilight show. It was the first poker ever broadcast by NBC who only covered the WSOP for a couple short years. CBS died some brief hilight shows in the 70's
