Perhaps an example of what you're referring to would be helpful as your
comment makes no sense to me without context. Isn't the point of interviewing people to get inside their head to share their thought processes with the audience. 95% of our audience aren't professional poker players either. I ask questions/bring up topics that I think our audience would be interersted in hearing the guest talk about and that I'm interested in. Most guests are generally pleased that we don't ask the same boring questions they have answered 10x before. What does the fact that I don't play poker professionally have to do with it at all? It would be pretty boring if people only interviewed people they already knew really well.
Would you make the same point to Stern, Winfrey, King or Walters(not comparing myself to any of these obv) who regularly try to get inside the head of people they don't know personally nor work in the same field as?
Maybe you aren't referring to the LivB interview but rather a comment I made instead.
