Episode #451 - March 9th, 2017

Live from the Two Plus Two Studios
- This week on the Pokercast: Fan favourite Jean Robert Bellande returns to the Pokercast to update us on what’s been going on in his crazy life! First off, we’re all back under one roof for the show as Terrence has returned to the great white north for his next bout. We chat about tips to recover from jet lag and Adam updates us on his weight loss then get into the news. In ICYMI: David Baazov sells off $100M of Amaya stock, stars offers “All Stara” promotion, another high stakes guru plans to “retire” and more. JRB then joins us to tell us about how he went to the oscars and an oscars bet he had with Phil Ivey. He also updates us on the Super High Roller Bowl and more tidbits from the Vegas high stakes world. After JRB we open up the Mailbag to answer your voicemails and e-mails about building a bankroll and a degen story. We review a couple hands in the Ross report and then we end the show with some good old fashioned trash talking as we grant Terrence's opponent Keegan his wish to come back on the show to defend himself after the rebuttal from T the week before!

Please make Keegan Trash Talk a regular item.

First time I've finished the episode before the show thread was up.

And the trash talking was fantastic. I love how T tried to take the high road and finally broke down. HIT 'EM IN THE FACE, T!

Hi guys, I loved the last show, I would like to send you an email, can you reply with your email adress. Btw. Terrence I hope that Keegan takes the even money bet and that you destroy him.

Keep up the good work.

Fantastic episode. Great talking with JRB (no 'how much ya got?' or degen story request, though!?) Best call in ever from Ian. I'm so stoked for him. I'm also looking forward to hitting the Encore room and playing in his game this summer.

Ross, the Iditarod is a 1049 mile sled dog race between the cities of Anchorage, AK and Nome, AK. Yeah, ****ing nuts. This year one racer fell asleep, fell off his sled and his dogs ran on without him.

Adam, you mentioned during the Bill Perkins interview that you had asked for questions for him via Twitter before the show. Any chance you can put calls like that up here, maybe in the show schedule thread? It would be great forum engagement.

Keegan Oliver is basically the "cash me outside" girl.

I listened to the episode again and the Keegan interview was just as good the second time. "You couldn't fight me in October, but two weeks later you're playing in some tournament no one has heard of with one minute levels." The way he earnestly delivers that non sequitur is so funny.

This is something I've never heard of that is "over" according to Google.

I'm so old.

Saw this, thought of Adam and Terrence... I think you guys discussed another airline doing this too somewhat recently?

Keep up the good work, the interviews from the last couple shows were particularly fun - and the Degen Stories have been awesome, a great segment to add to the show!

I don't want to throw fuel onto the motivational fire of Terrance's opponent ( but am going to anyway) but his opponent sounded like Cletus the slack jawed yokel from The Simpsons.

KICK HIS ASS T.

Adam meets the poker stars head honcho and a week later there's a crazy promo running that he loves... hmm

UK is kinda weird on units, officially I think we're supposed to be metric on everything.

In general most people actually do height in feet and inches and long distances in miles, but a short distance I would always do in metres not yards. Weights are generally kilos and grams but some people (olds) do still do ounces and pounds.

I love how Keegan tried to set up his "perfect record" line but T didn't bite. But then he said it anyway

Terrence is gonna kick Keegan's ass

Then there's the guy from London I met who asked me how many stones I am.

Reminds me of a politician who has a talking point he will try to get out no matter how irrelevant it is to what he was asked.

I was on a Ryanair flight from Cork to Liverpool late on Sunday night when i listened to (most of) this. The JRB didn't really do it for me, if I'm honest, but i was grinning ear to ear during all of Ian's call-in; gl2 him, the Wynn is a tough gig

Got everything crossed for T in his fight with Thicko McThickhead

Love the show. Long time caller, first time listener. Wonder if I can get T Chan's jet lag tips as I will be traveling from Detroit to Seattle Washington to Victoria B.C. Then 4 days later, from Victoria B.C. to Seattle to Kona Hawaii.

In the UK we use a weird hybrid of measurements if you ask me how far it is I reply in miles, how tall I am feet and inches or sometimes metres depending on how I am feeling. Beer is measured in pints though the bottle of whiskey you buy will be in litres. Horse racing uses furlongs and miles ( what the f a furlong is I don't know something to do with farming I think #toolazytoogoogle) If you buy fruit at the supermarket it will be in lbs and grams.
