Joe Hachem was 39 when he won the Main Event in 2005. Jerry Yang was 40. Technically, nobody
over the age of 40 has won the Main Event since Dan Harrington made his prediction in 2004, but in 2007 when Yang won, the second-place finisher, Tuan Lam, was 41, and Raymond Rahme, who came in 3rd, was 61, so Harrington's prediction almost fell within three years.
This year, only Cliff Josephy is over 40, but Qui Nguyen is 39 (25% chance of him having a 40th birthday in the next three months), and there are only two players under 30. Median age at this year's final table is 34.
