Forgive me if I don't have the last part exactly right, although I did try to type that verbatim. It was tough to make out that last sentence because of the grammar, however.

I don't mind this statement at all. He plays with the best PLO8 tournament players in the world, and he holds his own at or near the top. (It's worth mentioning that he fully acknowledges there are better players than he is. So he is, by his own words, NOT No. 1.) I suppose he could just state it that way, but the delicate sensibilities of the everyone-is-special/participation trophy generation would still find that arrogant.

As for the annoying voice, I have to admit I thought the same thing. Ryan woke up early to do the interview, he clearly was tired because of it, and it showed up in a tremendous amount of vocal fry. Not his fault, though. Have someone wake you up four hours earlier than your normal rise-and-shine time, then have a 20-minute conversation. If you don't sound like Clarence Henry's "Frogman" voice, my hat's off to you.

On an unrelated note, I'm trying to figure out what word "****en" is. Not a lot of words fit there. There is a word that would show up as "****ing" (or "****in'") that slides in nicely, but nothing ending with -en. Must be an Australian term that's missing from my American lexicon.

Ryan didn't come off badly to me. He sounded like someone who'd been in Vegas for a long time, honestly better than most of us after a long stay. TChan is a trained professional not to have gravel in the throat after weeks in the desert. Playing the highest stakes PLO/8 SNGs vs all comers is a fine claim to being one of the best PLO/8 players in the world. The fact that you think he should have beaten around the bush more is fine, but you seem to be the only person so angry about how he said it.

only get a handful of people who can be bothered posting. Also, a tonne of people aren't even 2+2 members.

Despite being called a donkey by xander when he was one of first out in the PS sponsored Sunday tourney (WAS 8 GAME AND i CAME IN 2ND PLACE IN OUR LAST LONGER BET) and besides Adam repeatedly editing or deleting my posts I am willing to send 25 bucks for a year's worth of podcasts. If a thousand do it you guys can continue and perhaps attend a few more junkets as well. (not that I'm, crazy about supporting your junkets when I haven't been anywhere myself but....)

I thought Mitch Towner might have been the best interview I've ever heard on the show. A recreational poker player who somehow just GETS IT. All of his background with math and other games led to him realizing just how lucky it was to win, to the point that I thought he should even be taking a little more credit because he played quite well for an amateur (or anyone really for that matter). I just really enjoyed hearing him talk about the experience and be so down to earth about it.

I also think Ryan is incredibly humble and good at what he does. I remember him repeatedly saying that he knew he was not one of the best PLO players in the field and that he was watching what the other top notch players were doing in order to pick some things up for himself. To come into this thread and act as if he was being cocky is absurd and sounds like you have a different agenda completely. But as has been posted already, feeding the trolls is the worst thing you can do so that's all I'll say about that. Congrats Ryan!!

Also, as far as the show goes, I love it and it's free content so I would never complain about when it's released, but I am annoyed that you guys say you basically get it out between Wednesday and Friday every week! That isn't true! Again, it's free content for me so get it out whenever but don't tell us that you're usually on time . I'd say maybe twice a month I check on Friday night and see that it's there, and twice a month it isn't there. Things come up which is fine but there really is very little consistency with when the show is released.

Even accounting for the fact that it appears that you are in the Eastern time zone, only one of the past 10 episodes was not released by Friday night your time (but was released on Friday night Pacific Time). The show thread basically goes up when the show is available for download, so it's easy to fact check this claim.

For all intents and purposes, the only time the show isn't up by Friday night is when there is no show that week.

Not that I'm complaining because of my backlog, but he could also be talking about the 6-23/24 no show and the 7-28/29 no show.

He said "I'd say maybe twice a month I check on Friday night and see that it's there, and twice a month it isn't there." Even if he is referring to the two missed weeks, that has only happened twice in the past three months, which is a far cry from "twice a month." He could have made his point without grossly exaggerating.

Well I stand corrected! I did not do my research to be fair but was just going off of how I feel, so maybe it's just that I can't get enough of the pokercast

But to be fair this is what I was talking about. Nothing June 24, July 23 was late (though obviously I don't care about being a day or two late), then nothing this past week. I probably exaggerated given the last few weeks. Apologies!

Edit: Also just looked back to make sure I wasn't totally making things up. Shows released March 16, March 25, April 6, April 19, April 30. Again, I'm really not trying to sound ungrateful, I get to listen to the show for free and I love it so it's probably it out line to complain at all. But I do remember Adam wondering on the show why people gave some grief about it and I'm just trying to shed light on that is all. Someone posted in the "show schedule" thread and I think that's what led to me thinking about it.
