Is the rake 35% (35/100) or is it 26% (35/135)?
It's 35/135, and it's tilting how virtually every time the WSOP Deep Stacks are mentioned Adam brings up the rake. What are you comparing it to?

Compare to similar live buy-in levels. Not to 1.5K's and online MTT's. When you do you will find they are comparable, and any slight excess is made palatable by softness and size of field.

Also,

Correction: You need not win an online turbo top-up SNG to get the extra chips. Just finish in the money (3/10). And you also get the usual cash prize pool.

26% juice compared to 35% is a lot more reasonable.
35% just sounds bad and would turn a lot of players away if they heard that incorrect figure.

Rake is clearly 35% as only 100 goes in the prize pool so you're paying 35 for the privilege of taking part.

That's my preferred way to listen.

This. Seems you're going to lose listeners if this isn't resolved soon as Stitcher is one of the more popular Android podcast apps.

As wrong as this sounds, I think there might be some merit to it. If you buy an item for $100 and then pay an additional $10 in tax you've paid a total of $110. This means that out of the $110, you paid 9.09% in tax. However, it's always referred to as 10% tax, not 9.09%.

I'll look into it when I'm at my computer, it's weird because apparently it wasn't updating then people said that was resolved... Now do people just not see it?

Let me know if this is the case for everyone, I don't use android. I'm not sure if it's on our side or theirs but If there is some sort of contact info within the app and someone sent them a message, 10k pokercast karmas to you Pokercast 412 - Doug Polk, Matthew Hilger & John Beauprez

Errrrr no.
You're paying 135 for the privilege of taking part, 35 of which is rake. 26%.

I'd be surprised if anyone is getting recent episodes, because nothing new is showing up here: http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/two-plus-two-pokercast

Will send them a support message via their app and see if anything comes of that.

I sell 100% of myself in a 5k for 6k, what's the % mark up? 20 or ~ 16.7%?

Guys, I was stunned to hear the news about Stars parting ways with the Pokercast. Really, this feels like the last nail in the coffin for my relationship with them as a company. They are cutting back all the stuff I used to love. It started with no more commentated Sunday Million replays, less and less televised content, and of course the overall decline in the quality of the site itself to have more emphasis on crappy -EV gamble-fest formats.

You guys, as always, handled breaking the news and ending the relationship (on the air anyways) with your usual good grace and dignity, but I know it's got to hurt. Be up front with us, is this the end for the Pokercast? You've been part of my weekly ritual for 6+ years now and I can't imagine not having you around anymore. Who knows though, I thought when Mike left the show wouldn't recover, but instead it's better than ever. Is there life after the Stars sponsorship?

My thoughts as well! Let us know what the situation looks like

There aren't any plans to stop podcasting guys! But if we can't find any reliable sponsorship we may have a problem...
06-05-2016 , 04:28 PM
Why don't you use some kind of sponsoring platform like patreon.com where we would be able to donate some Money for the show

Would be interested to know the cost to produce an episode. I will set the line at $2,000

stop giving out great content for free maybe and charge $1-2/episode?
im more than willing to pay for my pokercast fix and im sure many others are too. ive been getting 6 years worth of enttertainig for free, only fair to turn the tables in a situation like this. just a thought...

I would also be on board with some kind of subscription based format. I've literally listened to every episode for well over 6 years. I now listen to many podcasts but it was this one that got all that started. And still, when a new episode comes out, it instantly jumps to the top of the list.

Couldn't imagine not having it around anymore.

Don't know if anyone is at the liberty to discuss or not, but, aside from perks from stars, was producing and making these podcasts compensated for in any kind of salary for you 3, or was it just around the amount required to actually make them?

If no one feels comfortable answering that, a monthly payment subscription based format I could def get on board with. Something similar to Netflix etc. You will lose a very large amount of listeners but it could benefit you just in the same as before. $5-10/ month.

I'd really hate to see it gone forever. At least these supernova recurring segments will be by the wayside. Pretty annoying and pointless imo.

I was watching ESPN2 this morning and they had a show on called ICYMI In Case You Missed It. It was a recap of their Mike and Mike broadcast. Has Disney stolen your intellectual property? This could be important!!!

Extreme? Nah, the 3 of them must be getting paid, a 3 hour show must take 6 hours to record and prep, plus the cost of the studio, putting together all the material. It's certainly over $1k.
