Episode #365 - May 26th, 2015

Live from the Two Plus Two Studios - This week on the Pokercast: While Adam is off in golfer’s paradise, the first pokercast without A-Schwartz or MJ is in the books! Terrence fills the host’s chair while Mazin “Msauce” Khoury fills in as guest co-host to bring you up to date as the poker world transitions from SCOOP to the 2015 WSOP. Terrence starts out this week with an obituary of John Nash who changed poker with his mathematical genius and the guys move into “In Case You Missed It”. This week: SCOOP ended yesterday with the $10k Main Event of which Terrence and Mazin both played, the guys review their tournaments and Terrence brings a hand where he was put in a very tough spot for a big pot near the bubble. The guys review the highlights of the rest of this years series and the amazing numbers and feats we saw over the last few weeks. The guys also talk about the questionable WSOP player of the year points formula, Isildur’s upcoming debut to twitch, A proposed online poker bill for New York state with some comical wording and the date and location for this year’s Two Plus Two party! It’s the eve of the WSOP so we have 2 guys on the show who know more about it than anyone, Nolan Dalla is our first guest. Nolan is an Author, WSOP historian and joins us to share his insights of this year’s series and regales us with some tales of past WSOP moments. After that, one of poker’s good guys and a walking poker encyclopedia of sorts Kevin “Kevmath” Mathers joins us for more WSOP talk and to tell us how he went from being an unknown blogger and forum mod to one of poker’s most sought after resources. In the last segment the guys answer a ton of your mail, give forum shout outs, review some listener hands and review this week’s poker tweets in “140 or less”. Lee Jones also joins us, not from Pokerstars HQ but from California where he is attending an important meeting for poker there. Lastly, make sure to listen for this week’s play chip & real money Pokerstars Invitational password!

Great show, but I'm kinda embarrassed for you because you had to read out my suggestions.

More people should ask questions/make suggestions so that the very worst ones can be ignored.

havent had a chance to listen to the show yet, but Ive noticed Pokernews is not the same source for chipcounts and such as it has been in the past. Was there a change in the relationship between WSOP and Pokernews between 2014 and 2015? Maybe I heard a mention but it totally escapes me. Cliffs?

wsop have stopped pokernews doing the live updates (they're doing it themselves) they can be found on wsop.com and pokernews are focusing more on lengthier written pieces. If the quality of the updates doesn't go down then it just means more content for us.

Makes sense. I watched a little of the stream the other night w Remko and JCarver previewing the WSOP. Remko made a casual mention of having more time this year for journalism (or something like that) - makes sense that they're not chasing chip counts,

I think its really too bad that the WSOP wouldnt use TWITCH to host their live streams: easy access, auto-archiving, etc. Of course we all know that they are a couple steps behind in their thinking and actions, but for me - a guy w a job who cant just hangout till late in the night w the stream at will, the opportunity to have those VODs available would be gold.

Here I am, the perfect customer for that particular WSOP product, but ofc they cant get it together #sadness #frustration #itsCaesars.
