guys I endorse badugiaha as the inventor
11-09-2010 , 11:43 PM
Can you play badugiaha more than 6 handed - I would think there would be issues running out of cards with omaha hands & board plus 3 draws.
11-10-2010 , 12:11 AM
Badugaha has to be 6max
11-10-2010 , 12:11 AM
Sorry, Shaun loses points for misspelling his own game.

we played badugaha in home games about 7-8 yrs ago so i doubt you were the inventor sorry

nevertheless it's a really fun game and i voted for it
11-10-2010 , 08:58 AM

Not to rain on your parade or anything...

down to the wire. Approx 10.5hrs still left in voting.

Sooooo close!

In the event of a tie, I think rolling a die would be appropriate to decide the winner.
11-10-2010 , 04:47 PM
Having played both, Binglaha is definitely the better game. If for not other reason than what Grizz said... The 6-player max can be a problem when you're in a home game with 8 players.

It's also just a way cooler game

I *strongly* suggest that the hosts announce a time when the voting will end. We don't want any 'rigging' conspiracy theories!

I think post #2 ITT pretty accurately covered when the polls will be closing. 9pm PST/Midnight EST but you are right, holy crap is this close.

Not sure how the spoiled butterfly ballots that have come in from Florida will effect things.

Aardvark55,

Badugaha sounds like a really cool ring game, I plan to try it soon as a ring game. But I suspect it wouldn't play as loose in a tournament, and I can't see how a short handed tight split pot game would translate well to a tournament.

I've played Binglaha, was sitting in a 1-2 PL Binglaha game (I think it was the year fossil man won the series), and watched Terrance Chan call Greg's 8K+ bluff on high only hand when the spade flush came on the river (spade flush would have been the nuts, Greg flashed the ace of spades after Terrance went into the tank, I dropped a couple hundred in that session, but it was easily worth the price to see those two and a couple of lesser know big stacks go head to head.

I have not played in a binglaha tournament yet, but I think it would translate from ring game to tournament better than Badugaha.

I approve of 'badugaha'
11-10-2010 , 06:34 PM
dice? we're playing poker, not dungeons and dragons

badugahaaaaaaaa

Sorry, guys, I missed that - only saw the one that said "sometime Wednesday evening." I'll have to find other fodder for conspiracy theories.

I was in that game, and it was completely off the hook. IIRC, it was 2-5, although it was BARGE so my recollection is a little hazy. There was one hand where the entire table straddled, making it a total of $50 to go preflop. There was another where someone went all in for ~$75 (the table was VERY deep, probably a total of $30-40k), everyone called and then folded (I think this was Terrence's suggestion).

Binglaha, hands down. It's the perfect game for nit crushing. Where else do you find a game where hundreds or even thousands of dollars go in to the pot BEFORE you know precisely what game you are actually playing? Here comes the roll of the die..... It's a 5. How do you like your A-2-3-4 NOW???
11-10-2010 , 07:31 PM
I think there were definitely some shenanigans going on (at least earlier today) while I was monitoring earlier today.
Hmmm.... shocker....

Every 3 to 5 mins there was another vote for badugaha. Seems like somebody sequentially creating accounts and voting.

Does the polling software store the IP address of each voter?
Sure would be interesting to see how many came from the same ip address.

Also, might be detectable if many votes came from new users but not as reliable since people may have asked their friends to vote.

If the confirmation emails were saved/logged, I think there is a field I think called "X-Originating-IP" put in by many mailers which might shed some light on who sent them.

ObDisclosure:
I voted for binglaha (and only once)
11-10-2010 , 07:44 PM
Seems to me if you want more people playing the game while in the Bahamas, you need more than a six handed max player game--thus Binglaha should prevail on that basis (which makes sense); less dealers needed, more players involved
11-10-2010 , 07:51 PM
Maybe the votes should be weighted on how long the user has been active on twoplustwo.com?

Binglaha translates into a great tourney game, I highly recommend it!
11-10-2010 , 08:10 PM
lol voted for Russ and it became 177 votes each because of it ¬_¬
