Agreed - If anything, assigning a specific value based on weighted POY points is easier to do than tiered categories. The criteria is right in front of us.

One drawback to the format this year: I can't pick myself to be on my team! The one year I finally get things lined up to make it to the WSOP and play a couple events and I can't even choose myself!

I suppose the money I make from winning the tournaments will help ease the pain. But still.

You can definitely pick yourself. Any player not listed will be available for selection at league minimum salary.

I have an excel sheet that has last year's top 500 POY. I am working on putting the weighted average in for their scores. In this case, 2013 points will count as 50% of their value, 2012 points will count for 30% and 2011 points for 20%.

I'll have that up shortly. In the meantime, here is what I am thinking for Mike's questions. Unless there is a great reason to the contrary, these will be the rules.

1) Will multiple entries be permitted ?
No, but there will be side games based on events

2) Will each entry be required to take a minimum of one 'off the board' player(not on the published salary list of 100-150) to encourage variety of entries?
No

3) Will teams be able to name a bench player and make one swap/trade for a player of equal/less salary by a certain deadline i.e. one of their drafted players decides not to play the series (only points accumulated after the trade would be counted toward score)
If so, should this player have to be named as an alternate prior to the WSOP starting so as to not have information of other teams rosters to influence strategy.
Yes for swap, no for pre-deciding

4) Will a list of potential off-the-board players be published for players to consider or will this info be left up to the research of each individual player?
No

5) Will we use the WSOP POY scoring system or the DNegs $25K fantasy league scoring system?
WSOP, since value of player is desided on WSOP points

6) Does each entry have to complete a full roster or will they be allowed to spend more on top players and submit a smaller roster?
Complete Roster (either 10 or 12, thoughts?)

7) Payout structure - top heavy or MTT structure
Top 10% get paid.

Think you should have to complete a full roster as then you have to make better decisions regarding who you choose

Really looking forward to this. Never participated before but always followed the WSOP (wish I could play but I can never escape work at that time of year). Starting to make some picks already....

Or, at least, should be done separately from the PokerCast WSOP Fantasy League. (e.g. BBV and NVG are thataway...)
