Thanks. I understand AQ would be hard to play oop in multiway pot + the dead money and the fact that there's a lot of hands that will fold to such a raise but 1.35 million seems like a lot to ship. He's never getting called by AJ but I'm really no tournament expert.

The hand prior where Healy misclick 3-bet with A6 against Dan's QQ and then mysteriously called Dan's huge 4-bet was Dan's demise, not the AQ bustout hand.

Quote:
From early position, Daniel Idema raised to 80,000. After Yann Dion flat-called from the next seat, Patrick Healy meant to call from the hijack seat, but accidentally tossed out 120,000 and was forced to reraise. His raise to 120,000 stood and then action folded around to Idema. Idema reraised and made it 300,000 to go. Dion got out of the way and then Healy quickly made the call. This made a very confused look come over Idema's face as the dealer pulled in the chips to get ready for the flop.
The flop came down and Idema announced 400,000 before sliding his bet into the middle. Straight away, Healy moved all in for 1.235 million. After a minute, Idema called.
Idema tabled the QQ, but Healy had flopped top pair with the A6.
The turn was the and the river the . Healy went on to finish with trips and win the hand, doubling to 3.25 million and knocking Idema back to around one million.

This is probably the thread to put it, but I got to play a reasonably long session with Patrick Healy, the guy who busted Dan with the A6 on Saturday night just gone here in Perth, Australia.

Basically, the guy while passable as a small loser/breakeven in a local 2/5 would obviously get super-crushed in these 10k events (as would I ldo). This hand kind of sums up how he plays.

He limps somewhere in MP, I raise to 20 (Playing 2/5) with JT and we see a flop HU with me in position.

FLOP: K93

He donks for something like 30, I call since I dont expect him to fold a king at this point.

TURN: 5

He makes another relatively big bet, I call

RIVER: brick

He checks, I check back since I dont think he folds anything for any amount of money.

He rolls

Spoiler:
A6

In summary, bad luck Dan, Healy confirmed not very good at the pokerz, keep up the good work Pokercast crew

He was down to 130k then I saw this update:

Daniel idema vs. Xuan Nguyen

Level 19: 4,000-8,000, 1,000 ante

Tyson Marks raises to 17,000 from middle position, Xuan Nguyen calls in the cutoff, and Daniel Idema reraises to 55,000 out of the small blind. Marks eyes Idema's stack before folding, while Nguyen calls.

The flop comes 8club7diamond3club and Idema bets 55,000. Nguyen calls. The turn pairs the board with the 7club and Idema takes twenty seconds or so before announcing he is all-in, having Nguyen's remaining 230,000 or so covered.

Nguyen doesn't think too long before folding and Idema takes the pot.

Daniel Idema - 535,000 (67 BBs)
Xuan Nguyen - 235,000 (29 BBs)

Elvis Huynh Doubles Thru Daniel Idema

Level 19: 4,000-8,000, 1,000 ante

Elvis Huynh is all in preflop with KclubKheart against the 10diamond10spade of Daniel Idema.

The board comes Qheart10club6club7clubAclub, and Idema flops a set of tens, only to see Huynh catch a runner-runner club flush to win the pot and double up.

Elvis Huynh - 435,000 (54 BBs)
Daniel Idema - 325,000 (40 BBs)

Daniel Idema vs. Tyson Marks

Level 20: 5,000-10,000, 1,000 ante

After a flop of Aspade8heart4spade, Daniel Idema checks the big blind, Tyson Marks bets 23,000 from middle position, and Idema check-raises to 60,000. Marks calls. The turn card pairs the board with the 8diamond, Idema bets 95,000, and Marks calls.

The river card is the 10spade, and Idema moves all in for 307,000. Marks stands up and says to himself, "****." Marks tanks for more than two minutes before he asks the dealer for an exact count. Marks thinks for a while longer before he folds in dramatic fashion, holding them up high before slamming them face down on the table. Idema takes the pot.

Marks asks Idema if he made a good fold, and Idema says, "Did you have a five-card hand?" Marks says he didn't, and Idema flashes one card -- the Kspade.

Daniel Idema - 670,000 (67 BBs)
Tyson Marks - 412,000 (41 BBs)

Idema has since chipped up to 780,000 and sits 6/33
