All In or Knocked Out - Ep 5 "Everyone Gets Their Fifteen Minutes of Pain"

Live from Las Vegas - Four ounce gloves. Five minute rounds. Punches, kicks, elbows, and knees to everywhere on the opponent's body save the groin, back of the head, and spine. This is what Olivier and JC, two complete novices to the sport of mixed martial arts, have agreed to after six months of training, with a $270000 wager on the line. In Part 5, those six months come to fruition. The poker players turned fighters enter the cage on an April night in Las Vegas, and the result is a violent blood-soaked affair, well beyond the poker community's expectations.

I like it already and I've only read the title.

Twenty-five minutes? Why so sh... oh wait, that's how quick the fight was.

Spoiler:

Terrance, when you described Liv you pretty much implied that he was juiced to the gills.

I don't believe I implied any such thing. I was very impressed by his physique. I did not, and do not, speculate on whether or not he used PEDs.

I watched the fight live on Periscope, but Terrence's words in this episode did a much better job of describing what was actually going on. Definitely a much more interesting fight than it appeared to be on a shaky smartphone video.

+1

Terrance said that he was a specimen that very few people of his weight/fitness could match. You read into that "doped to the gills". Liv may or may not have been. Liv offered a bet with odds saying he isn't doped. Nobody bit. That doesn't prove anything. However, clearly Terrance made no such claim. Implied? I think you have to decide for yourself if everyone who is a specimen is doped. IMO, Tchan went out of his way to make no judgement.

"JC looks lean and strong like a good athlete. But Olivier looks like a comic book character. He’s muscles piled onto of muscles. He’s a specimen. There are a lot of 187 lbs men in the world but I doubt 1/10 of one percent have this much muscle."

Well, that's what I took away from your description when I listened the first time. If that's not what you were implying, my bad. I just re-watched the video on pokernews. Man, those hammer fists were devasting.

Hey Terrance and Ross, really enjoyed the show. Love how you left in T's prediction (was that last one or this one?) that JC looked so much better on the pads and was a more polished product at this point. Marks for integrity.

Definitely got the feel of being there. I also watched an online vid, and this was as or more compelling. Really looking forward to the aftermath show.

Sent the first draft of Part 6 to Ross about a week ago. Won't be too long. Thanks for hanging in there!
