You guys always make obscure hockey references, i got a good one for you.

For the last 20 years, everybody played with mike sillinger or played with someone who played with mike sillinger. He is linked to everyone. It is insane how he's linked to everybody(im sure theres one player that has not played with a player who played with him though!)

Henrik Sedin -> Hamhuis played with sillinger
Crosby -> Comrie played with Sillinger
Ovechkin -> Tom Poti played with sillinger
Carey Price -> Jaroslav Spacek played with sillinger

This list goes infinity. Its mind blowage.

Screw 6 degrees of kevin bacon. Mike sillinger is linked to everyone. Im want a reference to mike in the next pokerkast.

here's the radioshow that actually brought this up(the radio show got it from the HF boards)

Silly had a stint with our beloved Vancouver Canucks(and 11 other teams) and was part of our darkest days - the Mike Keenan/Mark Messier era.

The unbelievable thing about Mike Sillinger is that his best offensive years by far (32 goals/63 pts and 26 goals/59 points) weren't until his 16th and 17th seasons in the league. The following year was his last year in the league. So bizarre. There must be a million great Sillinger stories out there.

I prefer to pronounce it Sil-lange-eh as if he was french-canadian

Johnny Douglas ----> Hero-worships Messier just like Sillinger

It is easy!

Let's see someone crank out Gump Worsley, or Jacques Plante. Your choice.

Jacque Plante was coached by Scotty Bowman in St. Louis.

Scotty Bowman coached Sillinger in Detroit.

Is that one degree or two?

'Cause Gump played in Montreal in the 1960's with half of all future NHL coaches including Jacques Lemaire.

Right. Forgot about coaches. Those were easy.

How about:

"Pokey Reddick"

(we used to think his name was hilarious in grade school).

Reddick played with Fredrik Olausson in Winnipeg 86/87 who played with Sillinger in Anaheim 95/96

I can do this and I don't even play hockey. I helped Darren McCarty with his Stars account in 2002. McCarty played in Detroit with Sillinger in 1994.

Good job. I concede. Even the kid from my home town is easy enough to connect.
