Apologies to MJ... I meant to save the master list from which I compiled the Top 10 and the 3+ nominees. The hope was to add to it later and send it to you guys for seeding purposes. But alas, I had some weird freeze-up and apparently never saved it (it was an Excel doc).

I can do it again, although it took a little while to do thanks to the varying spellings (I used a process of copying, pasting and sorting.)

I think Lampanelli has one tired joke (that she sleeps with lots of black men) and is not funny once you've heard 15 minutes of her material (she's ok in roasts I guess). A lot of people say Ellen DeGeneres, Kathy Griffin, and Sarah Silverman are funny but I find them painfully unfunny. I'd rather listen to Daniel Tosh who is just Dane Cook without the energy and enthusiasm (and Dane Cook is really not funny).

But I don't think she would even be top 25 if I put my mind to making a list

It's clearly not the creme of the crop, but those guys are gonna easily get the votes to get in. I'm suprised there isn't more Andy Kaufman love here, truly an innovator in his time. Also nobody mentioned Jay Leno, he's very polished, and has been at it since the 70s and has been performing even while hosting the Tonight Show. There's something to be said for longevity, plus his routine (when I saw it about 5-6 years ago) was very entertaining.

Seen a lot of stand up but Al Murray's last gig was the funniest thing i have ever seen he doesn't have a script he just talks to the audience so clever so funny.

Yes, of course: Jo Brand - it's disappointing to see so few women mentioned.

For me, Dave Allen, Richard Pryor and Eddie Izzard are a very long way ahead of the rest. Each redefined stand-up for their respective eras.

The other redefining stand-up was Lenny Bruce but I assumed he was outside the time limit and I was too lazy to check (too much Chimay as per usual).
