I think statistically it's Roger Clemens.

I can't really give it to a guy who pitched 80-100 years ago, and in the modern era Clemens is clearly the best.

Pedro Martinez is more effective per inning, but he won't last nearly as long.

Why are baseball and poker so awesome?

Speaking of awesome, how do I be more like you?

Really.

Sabr obviously you forgot about this question since I know you are prob dying to answer it, so I'm just bringing this amazing question back to your attention so you can answer it.

Also fwiw Baseball is a very very very distant third behind football and basketball.

How many posts qualifies as "regular?"

Honestly I'm not sure. I don't particularly care for some people, but I don't dislike anyone.

If you're being serious, which I hope you are, this seems like a bad idea against the friggin' nut peddlers infesting the FR games. How do you make this work? That is, how do you ensure that you have a hand/draw often enough when called, or if that's not it, how do you pick your spots to have enough FE to keep your EV up?

Bet until they fold.

They only let me bring 100bb to the table... I don't have enough chips!

How much of your winnings are from non-SD pots?

Actually not a lot, as I bluff-catch more than most people, which relies on winning at SD. Tighter and more aggressive players win more in non-SD pots.

You hold 65s on the button. it folds to the HJ, who is a good solid lag, who raises x4BB. He's got 60BB left. folded to you. The blinds are nits.

What's your play?
04-25-2008 , 12:24 PM
How aggressively do you advocate attacking the big blind from the small blind in sb vs bb situations? I.e., Will you try to steal the blinds quite often when folded to you in sb or will you just give bb a walk if you have a weak hand?

Does not compute.

Do you think there is too much "group think" on 2p2, especially in the micros?

Very dependant on who's in the BB. Raise more frequently vs nits, fold more frequently vs good players. I don't really limp in that spot, except vs really passive players.

don't be evasive.

Anyway, I'd mostly fold and occasionally 3-bet. If he had a bigger stack I'd also call sometimes.

I bluff-catch more than 2+2 dogma also.

How many people at any given table do you have a solid handle on their game? That is, all of stats, history, read, et al.
04-25-2008 , 12:31 PM
I'm either blind, or you passed over this: when did you go pro, and what were you doing immediately before you went pro (it read like you were out of school months before you went pro)?

Most memorable hand in your poker career? Biggest pot?

Favorite movie? Favorite TV show?

Most underrated pitcher and hitter in baseball today?

The eight playoff teams in baseball this year will be...?
04-25-2008 , 12:33 PM
How do you react to pre-flop 3bets from standard tag regulars when you have a good, but not great hand? Example, If you raise a hand along the lines of a SC or AQ from MP and get 3bet from LP, how often will you fold, call, or 4bet?

How often do u 4bet a standard tag in the blinds' 3bet to your late position raise since nowadays it seems its pretty popular for the blinds to 3bet late position opens?
04-25-2008 , 12:35 PM
Do you advocate playing aggressively out of the blinds, or more passively, simply folding a lot of hands since you'll be out of position?

I consider myself "pro" since late of last year. Before that I was taking classes part time, playing poker sometimes, not doing a whole lot. I realized I wasn't getting anything out of school so there was no point in continuing.

Meh biggest pots were just some pretty boring double-ups at $5/10. Most profit in one hand actually came at $3/6, when I got all-in with 2 full stacks at the same time and won.

Anything that's not religious programming.

Hmm, I don't know. I don't think any hitter stands out as being really underrated. A few years ago Bobby Abreu and Brian Giles were consistently underrated. I can't think of anyone like that now. For pitchers, James Shields?

Hey Sabr. How much/what type of work do you put into your game outside of grinding? I'm slowly moving from nl50 to 100 and I'm finding there are a lot fewer total donks, what sort of ways would you recommend working on adjusting to tougher competition?

What are your thoughts on the future of online poker/viability of playing professionally ( in the US)? Do you think part of the games being tougher since UIGEA is also due to the economy, and it will right itself when the dollar gains some momentum?
