even so, i'd still say that if there's at least 1 tasty fish at the table and only 1 or 2 shortstackers, fill your boots with 22+ in EP. throw in A2s-A5s, ATs+, AJo+, KQo, 56s & 57s+ like a boss and you're good to go.
NB - don't forget the prerequisite for the SMB EP boss range of being good at this game.
honest to goodness, you were leveling me? I didn't get it. I thought you were using "russians" sarcastically not literallly.
Post a hand, I'll put my two cents in. You'll see that I know what i'm doing and and maybe give me a serious answer. Or, on the off chance that you thinks its OK to open raise A2s from UTG at full ring...stop doing that. Its bad.
I can totallly be on board with 75s though, super awsome against russians, but not so much against orientals. Orientals at the table=tighten up, ALOT, like only KJo+,QTo+,A2s-A5s (only suited aces that make wheels) and AA+. The only pocket pairs are Aces up. And your only suited connectors that aren't broadways should be 32s and 54s. Thats because of the huge implied odds you'll get from players who call you with a big ace and the flop comes like A54. You'll felt them. Depending, of course on there ethnicity.
Regardless of what your goals are here guys, I think you helped me come to a simple conclusion. It does make sense that you could open 77+ as default from UTG and you can add smaller pairs if conditions are favorable;
players are folding out a ton vs EP raises, you are super deep making it possible to profitably call a 3 bet and set mine, opponents get very sticky with top pair top kicker, you're rarely getting 3 bet, players make a lot of folding mistakes, maybe most of the players (especially the ones in the blinds) play fit or fold post flop and will either x/f to cbet or go all the way. Then i can open and bet all flops, if I hit a set and get called i keep pushing, if i dont hit a set and get called i'm done unless i improve, etc etc.
So, i'm walking away from this thinking its just fine for me to fold 22-66 unless game conditions are specifically "pro-PP".
