Hero calls on button with A5 o at 1/2

5 callers
Medium stacks
Villain large stack

Flop:
K♣️10♠️6♥️

Villian bets 60 into 50 pot

I smell bluff, raise all in for 100

Villian turns over J♠️Q♦️
Turn/river Q♣️2♦️

50/50 shot at winning on flop, did not put opponent on open ended straight draw. Is this a fold situation in the future?

What caused you to smell a bluff?

I doubt you had seen him bluff into 4 players with air.

He is always in good shape here against your A-high. You were fortunate to find yourself against the only hand that is a slight dog vs your ace-high.

So, whereas it was bad luck as far as the run out goes once hands were known, it was a lot of good luck that found you as a favourite in this spot, and ultimately it was extremely poor play on your part.

Most people aren't good enough to accept criticism and recognise they're not [currently] good enough, so that's something in your favour. I don't know if limit is necessarily easier, but if you go back to no limit just focus on making fewer hero calls and limit your bluffs (especially in multi-way pots), and tighten up your pre-flop range. Once you become more experienced you can start to adjust your playing style.

Your read was right although you seem to lack understanding of what he could call preflop then bluff into that many people. You were shocked he had a draw but what the heck else would he have if he's bluffing here and doesn't beat your hand? I mean 78o or so is just absurd. Full stupid with like 22 still beats you and raise to 100, is only 40 more. People typically just throw the rest in for that amount.

Even with your read--let this one go with some chance he could still be bluffing with a better hand than what we have.

I appreciated this response the most, I should be more aware of my opponents ranges in the many different scenarios of NLH. Any books or websites that would help me with understanding ranges?

Based on what? You are shoving $40 more for a $220+ pot, so hes gonna call with almost anything, a flush draw, an open-ended straight draw, maybe even a T.........................
