Seeking Quick Feedback from 100 NL Regs

I am not a cash player by nature, but I am trying to help a player who's mental game has some serious flaws and who's actual game has some genuine issues (he believes he plays "perfect poker")

Perhaps a quick intervention might help, so I am going to post a HH that he posted along with his comments (sorry it is not converted, this was how he posted it so we do not have the stacks).

Please be brutally honest about the flaws you see in this players approach to the game as coming from hard core cash regs perhaps this will make this poor fellow see the light.

Thanks in advance, and if any of you have an Omaha SnG/MTT question feel free to send it my way!

The hand and his commentary on it word for word:

Player7 posts small blind [$0.50 USD].
Hero posts big blind [$1.00 USD].
Dealt to Hero [ Ah As ]
Player9 folds
Player1 folds
Player2 raises [$3.00 USD]
Player3 folds
Player4 folds
Player5 folds
Player6 folds
Player7 folds
Hero raises [$8.00 USD]
Player2 calls [$6.00 USD]
** Dealing Flop ** [ 7d, 5s, 8s ]
Hero bets [$9.00 USD]
Player2 raises [$30.00 USD]
Hero calls [$21.00 USD]
** Dealing Turn ** [ Th ]
Hero bets [$19.50 USD]
Player2 calls [$19.50 USD]
** Dealing River ** [ 6c ]
Hero bets [$7.00 USD]
Player2 raises [$41.50 USD]
Hero calls [$34.50 USD]
Player2 shows [6s, 6d ]
Hero doesn't show [Ah, As ]
Player2 wins $197.00 USD from main pot

dont value bet on stars, they will get you

only chance to win is overbet and hope for fold (what a stupid ****ing site), cant make profit when you cant valuebet and win a hand

obviously dangerous board to call on, but i expected 10 10 or better due to the 3bet call

Looks good.

Stack sizes aren't important when you have AA.

Sound comments too.

I think he played it perfectly. Could you pls ask your friend whether he would like to play me heads up for a few thousand hands so I can learn something from him in order to improve my game? Thx

3bet pre is too small, gives villain odds to set mine which is especially bad if he can't fold one pair (which it doesn't look like he can).

River call is horrendous, villain is never turning an overpair into a bluff on this board.

Player1 posts small blind [$0.50 USD].

Dealt to Hero [ Kd Qd ]
Hero raises [$3.00 USD]
Player6 folds
Player7 calls [$3.00 USD]
Player8 folds
Player9 folds
Player1 folds
Player3 raises [$17.00 USD]
Hero folds
Player7 folds
Player3 wins $24.50 USD from main pot

If this raiser had a dominating hand, he was very stupid to raise that high, he could have milked a few big blinds from me on flop. Even call could be smart here.

Only acceptable raise if he had 10 10 or J J, but that we will never know.

To me that board looks perfectly fine to try his luck on, he is sure I got A A or K K, so obviously it would be hard for me to call.

There would have been a turn reraise for sure if this guy had set, he's not known to slowplay

It took Hooligan a while to muster the courage to talk about his hands here instead of a huge rigged thread (where this hand was offered as proof of a Stars rig against him), so if you guys could cut him some slack and ease up on the sarcasm and provide some genuine feedback for him then he might actually appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for your consideration to his situation, and have a fun discussion.

Well this is dumb hand to discuss.. because this is not how plays should be made. All decisions are made based on the player I was playing, he plays pretty much only 9 9+ and makes agressive bets to get ppl out of pot

Re: Seeking Quick Feedback from 100 NL Regs

player has :

Seat 9: Player9 ( $100.00 USD ) - VPIP: 21, PFR: 15, 3B: 4, AF: 5.1, Hands: 1903

Note: he does raise a lot of hands, but plays only overly aggressive the high pairs postflop (steals much both preflop and postflop)

I don't believe anyone said to 3bet to 17bbs, just that a 9bb 3bet is small.

That 3bet you posted is also very different, since there was a raise and a caller. In that instance the 3bet's not "huge".
