*** The Scum Reg Guide ***

It's been asked for repeatedly, so here it is.

Here is a place you can name and shame the scummy regs you encounter at the tables. Please explain why they are scummy or better yet provide some evidence such as a screenshot or some hand histories.

Hopefully by applying public pressure to these guys, we can instigate some changes in behaviour at the tables that currently stars seems unable or unwilling to do themselves.

This thread has to be maintained properly and done with at least some dignity. It's not here just for name calling and it's not here so you can wage petty battles.

Every reg has the right to dispute their name being added to this thread (since everyone makes mistakes occasionally). And everyone should consider who is reporting the reg and whether it is just. As such, just because someone gets mentioned in this thread once, it doesn't mean that he is inherently scummy. However you can have greater confidence that the players who are repeatedly mentioned are indeed a "scummy reg".

What constitutes being scummy can be quite subjective, but here is a list of some (but not all) of the areas to look out for, most of which contravene stars TOS or there ring game rules found here (http://www.pokerstars.ee/en//poker/room/policies/ring/)

- grimming tables when hu, especially starting tables (less so when tables close but extreme offenders may be worth mentioning)

- Sitting out when fish does and then sitting back in as soon as they do too (don't be retards)

- Trying to get fish to leave a ring game to play HU (without any previous animosity between the two players). No It is not alright to try and break the game like this without good reason.

- Fake tablestarting Tricky to fully define. The sort of reg that will sit 4 or 5 empty tables but refuse to start a game with anyone bar a -30BB fish, when other regs sit they either sit out or worse leave, then open a new empty table. Fake tablestarting also should be clarified if they sit alone but leave (and don't sit at new tables) if another reg tries to play them it's not scummy. If no one else is really starting tables and a reg wants to start but will only play fish shorthanded that is fine also and should not be noted in this list.

Am sure there are other examples also that i haven't listed.

We should be aware not to include players we suspect of botting, if you suspect some one of that then please report it to stars support and do not post in this thread. It is in everyones interest that the botters are unaware of us identifying their accounts.

Finally, Scummy is a subjective word so please don't just throw it around without giving it due thought. If this thread ends up getting too derailed or just becomes a poo flinging contest then i will just ask a mod to close and delete it.

I will try to occasionally complie and update a list of the definite culprits. And will ask one or two other regs to help me in deciding whether someone deserves to be added to it or not. Gl at the tables.

Re: *** The Scum Reg Guide ***

Ok well, I think we need a name to get the ball rolling.

scummy reg : SexyAngeline (stars)

Reason: Decided to come to one of my hu tables to convince a fish I was playing that I was "a big winner at poker" and that he should play someone worse like himself (i think he even mentioned ptr). The fish sat out, left my table while i was stuck a few hundred $'s and then proceeded to play Sexyangeline.

scondary reason: has previously been shown to grim in the regs threas,

Unfortunately i didn't take screenshots at the time (7 months ago). But his name is 100% on the list.

Fake tablestarting also should be clarified if they sit alone but leave (and don't sit at new tables) if another reg tries to play them it's not scummy in the slightest. If no one else is starting and a reg wants to start but will only play fish shorthanded that's fine imo. It's just when other regs sit and they either stay or even worse sit at a new empty table that I think it's scummy.

Re: *** The Scum Reg Guide ***

if mods are okay with this thread, can we make it such that there is an updating master list, that links to specific post about player.

i.e. in OP theres a scummy reg list and then it says
sexyangeline - hyperlinks to the post on him
scum reg1- hyperlink
scum reg 2- hyperlink

also lets make a concerted effort to not troll this thread and be really smart about the accusations. the more info the better. hopefully the mods will help us update the thread as more information becomes available.

agree with this, and is the reason i kept the 1st reply box free, so that this could be done in future if the mods agree.

tbh, i really don't like this thread. stuff like this seems appropriate to talk about amongst your other 2p2 friends on skype, but i really don't think it's that great to be making a thread where we accuse people of being scummy in a public manner like this. just seems like the labeling of someone as scummy is really subjective. too subjective to just have an open place for people to throw people under the bus.

i mean i can see stuff like grimming/hit and running be worth outing people on. but starting to call people scummy because they "fake table start" just seems a bit out of control.

Re: *** The Scum Reg Guide ***

this thread is hilarious.
i like the idea for grimmers and hit n' runners..

for the record, i've tried to get fish to play me HU...
thought that was standard practice tbh...
**but, only after they've said, 'ty' after a hand etc. ... not outta the blue.**
standard darwinian survival of the fittest, no?

fake table starters? that's pretty subjective..
i start tables.. but sometimes if games aren't goin' i don't really feel like playing a reg for an hr before someone else sits down...
