QQ vs pretty big nit

    $1/$2 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 8 Players

    UTG+2: $439.84 (219.9 bb)
    MP1: $260.37 (130.2 bb)
    Hero (MP3): $222.40 (111.2 bb)
    MP2: $226.09 (113 bb)
    BTN: $249.49 (124.7 bb)
    BB: $200 (100 bb)
    CO: $209 (104.5 bb)
    SB: $249.19 (124.6 bb)

    Preflop: Hero is MP3 with Q Q
3 folds, Hero raises to $6, 3 folds, BB raises to $20, Hero calls $14

    Flop: ($41) J 7 3 (2 players)
    BB bets $25.96 Hero...

Villain 10/6. 1.7 3bet over very large sample.

    Fold to preflop
    Fold to flop bet?
Call flop and fold turn UI or bet if checked to on x?

If I'm not willing to call more than one street w/o hitting a set, perhaps I should be folding pre?

    1.7 is less than QQ+AK

Also, if he 3 bet 1.7% over a large sample, he is probably almost never 3 betting from the blinds vs EP/MP without KK+ as I guess a lot of his 3 bet will be from BTN vs CO, BTN vs HJ and SB, BB vs CO/BTN

I don't think you are making a big mistake by just folding here. Vs super tight ranges like this, this might even be -ev to call pre.

call pre. if the flop brings a "nit scarer" then we can instantly turn our hand into a bluff.

fold now and laugh at how bad he must be for this to be the optimal line.

just imagine what you wouldn't want to see if you had AA/KK and you're an oop braindead nit in a 3bet pot.

Would be great because we would have top set!

We are looking for boards where we could turn our hand into a bluff

    T-J-x is great
Q-T-x is great (when we don't hold QQ )

T-8-7, J-9-8 type of board is probably ok as well

yeah sorry forgot about our hand; just that that board would scare a brainless nit with AA

Along that same token, I think I would consider calling the flop if you changed the 7 to a 8 or 9 with a plan to jam the turn if a 8, 9 or T (non-pairing) rolled off on the turn.

For instance, you'd have a J-8-x flop with a T turn, nit's going to nit it up against that all day.

K, nice to know that we can call pre. In these positions (and pretty much in general) I wanna fold pre to this guy. At least calling pre isn't terrible, that is, if I'm willing to continue w/o a set.

I like calling and evaluating the flop, but folding pre is ok with only 100bb deep
