Prop bet ,000 in 31 days at NL 200 on FTP Prop bet ,000 in 31 days at NL 200 on FTP

06-04-2010 , 06:47 PM
I want to gauge interest/action so I am making this thread prior to bbv.

I am TOAFK on FTP

I am going back to school in August, so this is going to be the end to my full time play so I want to try a prop while I still have my freedom.

turtlelicious attempted $40k in 31 days at NL 200 but he epic failed. He got 4 to 1 action for $100k. Probably could have gotten more action or better odds.

I am going to use his template for the bet (believe he used Zachvac's template).

I am looking for 4 to 1 on my $10,000. So looking for $40,000 in action from others.

IIRC there was some slight drama about PL hands in his prop attempt. I want to include PL because sometimes I just open tables and later realize it is PL. Shouldn't be of much significance because it will probably be 1/50 or less of the total hands I play. Just wanted to initially state that PL hands will count.

Post in this thread with comments/questions/action and we will sort this out.

Rules

* All play will be on 200nl (or PL) FR on Full Tilt
* I may play shorthanded as long as it is a FR (8 or 9max) table
* I may play 1 seat of 200nl FR Rush but no other Rush.
* I will have my webcam while I play and I will not be disqualified for accidental or technical problems with the webcam
* Bettors will be given my contact info(phone/aim) in case of emergencies/webcam problems
* I will be allowed to leave the webcam for food/bathroom while I play
* The only situation in which I will be allowed to void this bet midway through is a death in my family
* Those who wager are strictly prohibited from sitting at my tables unless you are a regular or a semi regular at 200nl FR
* If Fulltilt happens to go down for a few hours then those hours will be added on to the end of the bet. I must post right away on the forum if this happens
* if for some reason my account is banned because of poker legislation in the United States, then the bet is off, and the player’s money will be refunded. The panel of judges are to make a decision on the state of the bet and reasonable conduct to continue it.
* Those who wager are required to provide me with their FT screen name. I am forbidden though from sharing these names with anyone except the judges.
* I have exactly 31 days to make $30k or I lose the bet, this is $30k at the tables after rake and not including rakeback or bonuses of any kind.
* At anytime I had made $30k before the 31st day I have won the bet. (judges will be the ones to verify the amount)
* Any dispute during the bet will be resolved and decided by a majority vote of the judges. This will also be the method used to determine the winner at the conclusion of the bet.
* The sole job of the escrow is to collect and verify money, and distribute it to the appropriate parties as directed by the judges at the end of the bet.
* I will make a good faith effort to update during the bet but I can not lose the bet due to lack of updates.

I'll consider it if you make it on Pokerstars
06-04-2010 , 07:38 PM
3.5:1 and I'll take 7k against.

Or make it Pokerstars and I'll give you 5:1!

I hate the PS software. I get tilted just looking at it and trying to use it. Otherwise might have considered it.
06-04-2010 , 07:40 PM
I'm sure you can get better than 4:1 if it's PS. That should increase the incentive!
06-04-2010 , 07:44 PM
I'll bet at 3-1 on FTP and I'll bet any amount you can't do it on pokerstars at 6-1
06-04-2010 , 07:50 PM
ok maybe after this try on ftp i might try ps. seems like i will get better odds on ps, although i cant imagine it is nearly twice as difficult. implying the games are twice as hard.

ok so back to getting $40k in action at 4:1

so far 3.5:1

i assume that 4:1 should be standard but we will see.

Looks solid. I won't bet against but if you need an escrow/judge lmk.

edit: I don't get back from vacation until July 2nd so bet would have to start after. oops

lol, it's a money prop, not a winrate prop. He can play like 8 more tables or w/e on stars so even if stars is harder it could still be easier for him to make that dollar amount.

Idk if I'm interested in betting, but GL either way man. You're on the list of a few 200nl regs who I think could actually pull it off.

Nope.

16 x FTP winrate > 24 x Stars winrate

Not to mention other various factors

omg please play on stars.

I don't see how stars stays in business

For one, the harder it is to make money, the harder the players, the more variance involved. If you start bad or below average, negative thoughts will be creeping in your mind

sick prop bet..

i've just moved to ftp and it is hell soft, loving it.. definitely do not try this on stars :P

best of luck and 4:1 sounds fair imo

Meh, that is kind of what I thought you guys were implying. I have played on both sites and always thought Stars was easier, but everyone else is suggesting otherwise.
06-04-2010 , 09:53 PM
lol @ all the people who think stars is much tougher.

if this was true you are all morons for not switching to ftp.

sure you might make slightly more in rb/vpps at stars, but if you could make 1.5-2x your winrate at ftp you should switch.

stfu about stars being more difficult.

a bunch of massive 16-24 tabling vpp pros have more holes in their game than swiss cheese.
06-04-2010 , 10:28 PM
For you to say stars players have massive holes in their game and then you yourself not playing here you're being hypocritical. Most people here would snap your action at 6:1 on PS but won't take 4:1 at FTP. If you bet $25,000 that's $50,000 extra right there. If software is the only reason you'd dislike this then I think you could suck it up for $50,000. Unless there are other reasons as well.
06-04-2010 , 10:34 PM
is the primary difference in the 200nl games? everytime I've played the 100nl games stars seemed softer.
06-04-2010 , 10:36 PM
pretty sure that wasn't his point, pettey. Not to mention i don't see anywhere him saying he wouldn't or doesn't play stars. I think he's simply saying, that if you guys actually believe you can improve your winrate by 1.5x to 2x, you are dumb for not moving as it will make you more money overall.

I agree stars is harder, but sometimes I don't get the whole "we play on stars cause we are better" conversation. We are all here to make money... if there was a signifcant amount more free money on ftp, you'd all play on ftp.

well if i played on both sites i would obv prefer to try the prop on the one which will give me better odds.

but, since i only play on ftp that will have to do for now.

it isnt hypocritical, players on both sites have holes in their game.

i have holes in my game.

It's not difficult to open an account and play on Pokerstars. You even get a $600 first time deposit bonus!

I play on Stars because I enjoy their VPP program, their software and their customer service. I don't play on stars because I'm an elitist or w/e.
