Understand you are being played with. I'm gonna give you actual legit advice;
Read more threads before you start posting hands
Read a book or something or maybe move to micros before putting any more money in play.
Don't open raise to $20 in 1-2 with any hand ever.
Include more info, like what your position is at the table.
Open for something reasonable, 3X is pretty standard, if i was you I would go a bit higher because you prolly want to limit the number of flops you have to see and play a very big bet preflop game until you get a better grasp of post flop play.
This is how I'd have played it; well, this is how i think you should play it;
open 4XBB ($8). I couldn't tell you that if your hand wasn't exactly AA cause i don't even know if your sitting under the gun or in the small blind.
On the flop, you have to look at what hands your opponent could have called with and see if you can be called by worse or fold out better hands.
You have an over pair on a flp that improves a lot of hands people like to call with so you can bet for value and you can bet pretty big. I would stay around 2/3 pot as standard and I think it makes great sense on this flop with this hand. So bet 2/3 pot on the flop. When he calls flop and x's turn bet for value again (again 2/3 pot or maybe even full pot) then when opponent bets into you on the river your in a crappy spot because KQ got there, AJ made it, KK had you beat from the flop, and QQ got there, but realistically QQ/KK should have raised you preflop and if you bet 2/3 pot on the flop and turn AJ should be gone. In honesty no hands should call your 20 dollar preflop raise. AA and KK should shove on you and everything else should fold. QQ, AK, maybe shove on you to. But you did it and got called so...
Preflop; raise 3-5X (as you get better you can start raising less) STOP 10Xing
FLOP; bet 2/3 pot for PURE value, you are gonna get called by a lot of second best hands.
TURN: see flop;
RIVER: your in a tough spot here. Chances are though, if you'd been betting more than 1/2 pot a lot of hands that beat you on the riv would have folded.
As played,.. I don't know, flip a coin. You're prolly beat but there's a lot of money in the pot.
If you played it the way i suggested you might still get stuck here on the river but you will make a lot more/lose a lot less in the long run.
ITS NOT OK TO RAISE TEN TIMES THE BB EVER;
