Online 100NL = Live 5/10NL Online 100NL = Live 5/10NL

I have a question. Many people say online is tougher than live. I very much agree. What I can't get my head around is Online being equivalent to ten times Live.

I play both and I think they are just different games. Would the average 100NL player play 5/10NL Live? Are there many players here who do this, or is it just theory?

Bankrolls are vastly different or do you think the average 100NL player has 35K-50K?

Here at 2+2 they have the two sections, but I play 100NL/200NL but only play 2/5 NL Live. The next game is too big for my bank.

I would be really interested to hear some comments on this subject.

Ive played 5/10 live and i can say any nl 10 winning player online has at least 30bb on a 5/10 table live

if you are winning >0.00bb/100 online at 100nl/200nl over 100k+ hands. Its very likely you would win (excluding rake for simplicity) in any 5/10 live game that exists. If you can/cant take the variance is another story. gl

I guess that's the point of it. Playing 5/10 is not just about knowing how to play. It's about being able tomato the correct plays when the $$$ are so different. You may know it's a bluff, but can you call an 80bb bet if you are down 3K on the day? The online buy ins are 100bb and players leave often when they have 225+ bb's. The 5/10 game can have three or more players sitting with 500bb+. It's more than just reading cards then, it pushing weak points--making bets hard to call because the comfort zone is gone. 200NL players experience this when they move up. IMO, the 5/10 player would easily beat the 200NL player live in the 5/10 game with better results at the same table. But interestingly, I believe the 200NL player would win the battle online. The margin of victory would be smaller, in bb's.

Another one of these stupid threads. Every year someone makes the "is x online as hard as y live?" then later answers his own question with "no, live players are better" and gives a bunch of intangible reasons where live players would win.

Lots of 200nl regs, especially fr ones, also play 1k if they see a juicy game running. They're 200 regs but they still know how to play when the value of the BB increases.

I'm not going to argue whether the best 1k live regs are better than the best 200nl online regs but i will say that the reason most people think a 200nl reg would be a winner in those games is the fact that 1k live will usually have a line up of multiple fish/bad regs. 200nl online you're at a dream table if you have 2 fish there.

I'd imagine the average 100nl reg would be +ev at a 1k live table I think that the average 1knl live reg may struggle at 100nl online (certainly to begin with).
