WTF has some arbitrary excuse such as "poker logic" got to do with banning software that is obviously going to be horrendous for the state of online poker in the long run? Sometimes a decision needs to be made because it is the right decision, not because it does/does not add up on some corporate points system.

Honestly it is ****ing infuriating to see how far down the scale of respectability stars has fallen in the last couple of years. They're ridiculously slow to react to change in what is obviously an extremely fast changing multi billion dollar business sector, i mean wtf?! They've made a large cash grab in changing the rake structure whilst also allowing the games to deteriorate faster than should have happened.

At one time I would have recommended anyone to play on stars... but now when they ask me I have to honestly say that there are a ton of games running but a) there's a lot of short stacks b) you prob won't get on a table with the rec players anyway and in the last couple of months c) stars has an apparent lack of ability to catch sophisticated botters without having the players point it out to them. The sick part about part c is that it can so very easily be applied to part a and the whole thing could become nearly impossible to detect (due to having fewer decisions in genera).

Stars Is a ****ing joke at the moment. pull your finger out of your arse and stop treating us like utter dip ****s. Do us the courtesy of responding to our queries concisely or maybe at least give us an idea of what your plans are for the future so i can **** off now rather than wait to be disappointed again.

The online games are getting worse at a faster rate than they should be due to what seems like horrible mismanagement.
A+

for teh record i believe teh bs i'm writing.

haven't had any complaints of fish that i'm hunting them this month so far, played over 50k hands already, had 100s of jesus seats... hmmmm

I've always wondered what Stars can see is going on with your computer when you are playing on there. It would seem like they can see every program you have open but wonder if they can see what websites you go to while playing as well.
12-11-2012 , 02:10 AM
no they cant see websites you go to

I can assure you being hunted is intimidating and demoralising, someone earlier mentioned the word hostile, pretty much spot on.
first off we don't know if fish aren't stupid in real life as well, but that doesn't matter anyways.
2ndly we can agree that they are stupid at poker. i consider hunting a fish as poker and not real-life so we can agree they are still stupid.
i think they don't notice that stuff because given teh sick amount of fish i sit i had 3 "complaints" or better questions this whole year if i am following them. 3 out of several thousands and i hunted some guys pretty badly

there are different types of fish in this case anyways:

1. waitinglist fish: he joins waitlist and never sits at empty tables - he is not affected by teh script
2. here to have fun fish: he sits empty tables and tables wit one player in order to start a game. he plays an hour or 2 at a table and leaves. even though teh table will snapfill he is not really affected or will feel hunted bc for him it is normal that games starting quickly - and tbh he likes that bc he doesnt want to play heads up for long
3. teh grinderfish: he's playing 1-4 tables, has basically no clue wat he's doing and bleeding money. maybe he binked a tourney, maybe he has to much money irl, he doesn't care, he has seen it all, he is there for teh game, he is not going anywhere
4. stupid table hopper fish: he joins a table, plays 2 hands, leaves, joins another, plays 5 hands, leave (by then he is in general already busto bc in general these players are teh biggest whales out there). however if he still has money left he might join a 3rd table. this is teh only fish who maybe will realize and get suspicious why tables fill so fast and why always teh same people sitting next to him needless to say those fish are pretty rare...

i just don't see teh argument that fish will get scared/annoyed/whatever and will leave as valid. that will happen so superrarely that it is almost negligible

and believe me, for me teh script is prolly one of teh worst things happend lately bc now i have alot moar competitors which i haven't had b4...

i'm quite sure at this point that stars will act sooner or later and that tis script was teh beginning of teh end of teh ability to choose your seat at normal ring tables...
12-11-2012 , 02:40 AM
btw teh most funniest/pathetic thing is how this script issue got to where it is now.

6 months ago: nobody used anything to monitor empty tables

3 months ago: one person started to complain in midstakes regs thread that there is this one guy sublime who is using a script and getting all the seats

2 months ago: hate against sublime went bigger and bigger, people were discussing how bad that script is blablabla

1 month ago: another guy who programmed sublimes script for himself decided that he can make moar money selling teh script instead of using it for himself (tbh i don't know which EV is higher) and puts it on teh market for everybody who is willing to pay some cash

now: Chaos

wat can you learn out of all this? sometimes it's better to shut teh **** up.

The 2 biggest mistakes here were made by sublime and teh guy who first said here on 2+2 "that this sublime guy has to use some sort of seating script"

sublime for once was way to greedy, he should've just programmed a random delay when it clicks a seat and nobody would've ever thought he has a script - he wouldn't have gotten every single jesus tis way but still teh vast majority; now he is just one of many...

teh other guy made teh mistake telling 2+2 about it. he should've just approached sublime and told him to program some sort of delay bc people get suspicious and in order for him to shut up he would've gotten teh script himself. alternatively he just could've searched for a programmer and wrote teh script himself.

they both would be printing money and nobody would even now about it...

makes me giggle when i think about it

but in all fairness it would've come to the point we are now sooner or later anyways, it's just a little bit sooner now

I think they used to be able too, then there was a bit of outrage and they removed their ability to do it.

Tim how can you be in favor of this when the majority of your edge as a bum hunter relies on the speed of your Jesus seating? You are losing a massive amount of your edge IMO.

this i absolutely agree with.

I'm not in favor at all but they made clear they cannot/will not ban it so i rather go wit teh flow instead of complaining all day when it is obv that shortterm nothing gonna change...

Thanks for the clarification, felt like I was missing something.

I find it incredibly ironic that you of all people would say this.
12-11-2012 , 04:15 AM
What do you mean Stars cannot ban it? Just because Stars won't be able to catch every single offender doesn't mean it shouldn't be illegal. You really think this script would ever go widespread if people had to wager their account to use it? Not to mention simply removing the color rings around player avatars would prevent the current script from functioning entirely.

Lets see how stars handled each problem:

1) Bots- except investigating a few suspicious users that were actually pointed out by other players and were not detected by PS staff, they basically did nothing and bots are still running and more bots are programmed ATM.

2) SS infestation taking over all ring games- stars did nothing and now this cancer is growing more and more each day.
oh wait, stars did act on this issue, they made sirrfredyy team pro. Along with the Spade badge that comes with being a team pro, they should add to his avatar a HNR badge to show his wonderful HNR skills.

3) Seating Scripts- instead of taking a strict line and banning scripts (and yes, ban also ALL seating software for that matter), stars actually came out and gave the green light for using this and hurting the games even more.
12-11-2012 , 10:03 AM
Obviously they dont think any of those issues will make them less money
