I've said it before and I'll say it again, any change is fine by me as long as the same ratio of money goes to players:stars as last year.

I think the rake:vpp should be the same across the board, it makes no sense to me that 6-max gets 5.5 and we get 6.

rake down, rake caps down and under the current system there is no need for teh difference between sh and fr (5.5/6). I don't really care anyways bc i'm playing at least 50% 6 max but even if you play FR and look at it from a neutral point it makes no sense to have this difference with WC...
obv it is not really an option to increase both numbers to sumthing like 6.5 bc than the SNG-guys will go crazy...

On top of that, a REDUCTION in the FR multiplier!? That is completely absurd. It shouldn't even be talked about. Stars may as well just do away with SNE for cash players- as there won't be any. We're better off abandoning the player panel if this is being considered. Who ever brought that idea up should be castrated and asked to leave the panel. F*ck me.

Also, paradoxically, there is no logic to making each $1 of rake equal to the same number of VPPs. This is because the rake (fee) of each tournament is a somewhat arbitrary %age of the buy-in (although usually around 10% of so.)

If there really is some cast-in-stone reason to make all rake dollars equal, then increase them all to 6.5 and make slight increases to all tourny rake. (Impractical though.)

-------------------------------------

And to repeat what I mentioned earlier, obviously we want to attract fish to the games- but this isn't what this whole panel was set for. They already have benefited from the changes- and a reduction in rake would be an additional benefit for them. Many have lost tens of thousands (which I don't have too much of a problem with as the previous rake method was a little unfair) and the point of the discussions are to re-balance that a little.

Once that has been accomplished, then we can talk about how to attract more fish to the tables. The sky isn't exactly falling right now anyway with regards to fish.
Can I buy you a plane ticket to the Isle of man?

Rom, I'll also give you a hefty per diem. I'm just not sure anybody can represent my best interests (SSFR also) better than you.

Although I'd enjoy a little holiday in the Isle of Man , Klairic is a good man to have going. I think he'll do a great job for us. He and I will be talking on Skype sometime soon, so he will be well aware of the shared opinions that many of us have before he sets sail.
01-13-2012 , 10:46 PM
I basically haven't said **** about all of these changes because i believe that ROM/Klairic etc will do us proud.
01-13-2012 , 10:51 PM
havent said **** about it because stars has made their position clear they alrdy know what concessions they are going to give if any but it wont be worth ****

Cant believe you would even consider reducing the FR multiplier considering we already got screwed. Also cant believe that ROM posted no expletives in that post.

I think unfortunately Stars know what they are going to give away in concessions already and the whole thing is just a big silly facade. They will give the rake reduction as intended (with changes to the FL structure because it was obv terrible) and they will kick something else back which is a one off promotion/cost of a couple mill (which is absolutely nothing).

Something that hasnt been pointed out... Steve said Stars will save '1.5-2% of gross ring game yearly rake.' Gross, not net. Gross ring game rake on Stars has to be on the order of at least $1B, so we arent talking about an insignificant sum of money at all. Some of the stuff I have read suggests that Stars are going to give some detailed information about their business to the guys going, so I simply suggest this: Find out how much Stars ring game rake is, multiply it by 0.02 and then ask them how they plan to give that back to players.

Unfortunately only 3 germs understand how funny this is... :-)

Maybe someone could help me out here. I requested hand histories from stars, downloaded them and i have no idea why HM doesn't import them. Hands are in a bit strange format - i received only a couple of .txt files (only a couple compared to when you export from HM, there's a lot of them) and somehow HM doesn't recognize them i guess. Any ideas?

did u cotact stars support?
01-14-2012 , 10:26 AM
The text files contain many many hands per file and it often takes very long until HM has imported the first one.

the hm import progress bar also often seems to stuck

well that wouldn't be a problem but HM writes something like this: 10 files founds, 10 files imported, 0 hands imported. It's done like in 1sec...
