Many people think a "mini-SNE" level is worthy of discussion- it is talked about regularly every year in the SNE thread.

However, I think this idea is going off-track- with regards to these current discussions. All it effectively is, is a re-distribution of rewards to make SNE less top-heavy.

---------------------

Reduce the rake, and increase the VPP/$1 rake multiplier is what I would strive for.

Pretty sure they wouldn't even consider changing the VIP levels now the year's started anyway.

Easily attainable rewards for the low volume players is the way to go imo. I seem to remember the tables being good when they did that promo a while back where they slashed the VPPs for silver/gold/plat for one month. That got fish playing more hands trying to get to the next level, then playing more hands to take advantage of their new level. Milestones also make the tables great. More stuff like that imo. Increasing rewards for the higher volume players seems shortsighted.

These ideas are great. We need to get as many fish as possible swimming to the tables.

I'm not sure what we're all talking about precisely now though. Initially, the scenario was that the high volume players have lost a LOT of value, the fish have gained a little, and Stars have gained a lot. So aren't we striving to reclaim the money taken by Stars, and give some back to all those players who have taken a massive hit, and further help the fish with whatever carrots they need?

yep. this this this.

the games were the best during those times.

and games are absolutely atrocious right now
i wonder if stars really loses during milestone and easy-vip-months because of the increased player pool, its a great way to give back to the loyal grinder (by attracting fish to the table), and it keeps stars #1,
win-win

Filling the tables with fish is probably the best long-term way to give back to those high volume players.

I brought up my opinion on this subject in the negotiations thread a couple of times but no-one really took any notice and just kept talking about VPP multipliers and rake reductions, which is fair enough wrt immediately compensating those high-volume players that are losing out, but you also have to think about the long term health of the game.

Also, tables at 100nl have seemed pretty good to awesome since the start of the year to me (compared to the last few months of last year).

Yeah 100 has been super soft this year, and 200 also decently fishy
01-13-2012 , 10:32 AM
Tcoop comin up here in a few day, will give us a few weeks of better games as a results of that
01-13-2012 , 10:58 AM
200 games are weird. During my first session yesterday they were basically unplayable, at the end of my 2nd i didnt want to quit :|

dsmith did u get my pm?

I'm going to talk with the others about another VIP level, but I think it's the wrong way to go. It's more important at this point to get more recreational players in the games. There's no point in playing on Stars no matter how good the rewards are if it's all regs.

One idea that's being brought up, is to make $1 of rake have the same value everywhere. Presumably, this would mean that full ring went to 5.5x, and we'd get a rake cut to compensate. What do you guys think of this? I'm thinking it's good for everyone except guys going for SNE. SNE would be much tougher if that happens.

Anything that's gonna make sne tougher doesn't sound good to me

I like this, but only if the rake reduction would be significant. I didn't do the math, but I think -10% with the same cap or sg like that wouldn't be enough.

A very firm "No."

Using myself as an example (by with no bias ) I will lose approx $25k - $40k this year. A reduction in rake will make virtually no difference at all, and may very well cost me several thousand more, as it will make it far harder to get.

On top of that, a REDUCTION in the FR multiplier!? That is completely absurd. It shouldn't even be talked about. Stars may as well just do away with SNE for cash players- as there won't be any. We're better off abandoning the player panel if this is being considered. Who ever brought that idea up should be castrated and asked to leave the panel. F*ck me.

Also, paradoxically, there is no logic to making each $1 of rake equal to the same number of VPPs. This is because the rake (fee) of each tournament is a somewhat arbitrary %age of the buy-in (although usually around 10% of so.)

If there really is some cast-in-stone reason to make all rake dollars equal, then increase them all to 6.5 and make slight increases to all tourny rake. (Impractical though.)

-------------------------------------

And to repeat what I mentioned earlier, obviously we want to attract fish to the games- but this isn't what this whole panel was set for. They already have benefited from the changes- and a reduction in rake would be an additional benefit for them. Many have lost tens of thousands (which I don't have too much of a problem with as the previous rake method was a little unfair) and the point of the discussions are to re-balance that a little.

Once that has been accomplished, then we can talk about how to attract more fish to the tables. The sky isn't exactly falling right now anyway with regards to fish.

It depends a lot on the rake cut but anything that will hit FR guys harder than others is not welcome IMO. Also not sure what this has to do with getting more recreational players to play on Stars (a goal which we all agree is very important).

adjust imo, or drink

I pretty much agree with this. I really don't like the idea of going down to 5.5 with decreased rake. This is going to be tough to argue, so I will need numbers from more of you guys to make my case.

Assuming Stars did go to 5.5 with reduced rake for full ring, would any of you change the amount that you play on Stars, either more or less?
01-13-2012 , 05:11 PM
If stars wants to kill its cash games then there isn't much we can do about it. You guys keep forgetting that even each and everyone of us is affected by any change stars is making, the main body affected is stars itself. The panel and everything is a smokescreen, we are being outsourced, the regulars of the games are no longer necessary to stars, they already have enough 25nl games running to satisfy the fish, and the regulars there are willing to put in the hours for a much less hourly than we are.

bump the multiplier for FR 6.5 if you agree to reduce the rake with stars because the SNE will be a lot tougher and if they reduce the rake, the health of the games will improve.

strive to bring us players more profits not to bring them down and make it tougher.
