The correlation is that he has enough money so that he doesn't have to worry about saving a couple hundred bucks buying online.

Yes, I know exactly what I mean. If he buys the computer in a store, he can see it and make sure that it has everything he needs already installed and configured. If he buys it online, he might have to add hardware, install drivers for it, etc. Not a problem for an experienced user, but he doesn't seem to be one.

8gb memory? lol
no SSD?
HP Pavilion? with that **** processor?
I have an HP Pavilion from 2009 with 8GB (and SSD). I've been 24 tabling on it for 3 years and never had any performance problems. Of course, there are faster computers, but this is enough unless you also watch movies or something while playing.

I doubt he can even play a lot of tables on Merge, considering the stakes.

Ok, I agree that SSD will definitely improve performance.

24tbling stars you can do on a complete POS.

What he wants to do is run HEM2, PT4 (one of the current US facing sites is not supported by HEM) and 4 separate clients.

What you suggested doesn't come close to handling this well. (or even handle HEM2 perfectly)

Somehow they're letting me play up to 32 tables now :S

Last edited by coinflip_si; 10-03-2012 at 05:08 PM. Reason: Seriously considering asking stars to reduce it back to 24 though

Ok, this makes sense. Glad to see that there are people who can explain what they mean without insulting others. For example, I didn't realize anyone would want to run HEM and PT at the same time.

it does.

lol. I never mean to pick on 2+2ers- only the ones I think are cheating teams. I'm sorry.

What's your sn then? (Although I can prob guess as you're about the only decent 100BB Ch1nky reg located in China at 100NL if you're who I think.)

It does look a little like the old FT from those shots, but it was designed and up and running way before Stars bought FT, and I don't think the design has been changed.

Obv not me then
10-03-2012 , 06:42 PM
That doesn't mean it wasn't copied from FTP (I think it very clearly was)

10-03-2012 , 06:43 PM
will you be able to save different search filters like on ftp? that would be a nice addition to stars.
10-03-2012 , 06:46 PM
the article suggests you can't.
10-03-2012 , 07:59 PM
We were told about it at the VIP meet in London last saturday, and I think those of us who were there will be first to beta test also. Looks really good tbh - much much easier for fish to navigate to tables and enjoy their online poker experience from what I gather.

You are making less and less sense. Why would a computer bought "online" (you seem to lump all online vendors, all online computer brands and all online custom built computers into one giant blob for some reason) "freeze" more often that a store-bought one?

Yes, I know exactly what I mean. If he buys the computer in a store, he can see it and make sure that it has everything he needs already installed and configured. If he buys it online, he might have to add hardware, install drivers for it, etc. Not a problem for an experienced user, but he doesn't seem to be one.

LOL wat? So you're addressing this "problem" that an inexperienced user has but your solution is to go to the store, see the computer and make sure it has everything installed? How does he know whether or not everything is installed by looking at the computer if he's an inexperienced user?

Oh, I hear you say "well he can ask the sales rep". To which I'll smugly reply: Couldn't he just email whatever online site he's buying from and ask them the same thing?

Furthermore, please tell me how seeing a computer is going to help him ascertain whether or not all the drivers are installed?

As software becomes more and more performant (HEM 2,etc) you are going to see performance problems. Furthermore gadolparah already stated he runs quite a bit of software while playing and while he doesn't 24 table, the lack of tables that you so correctly pointed out leads not to playing less tables but to playing more sites. Which take up infinitely more resources.

Glad to see that there are people who can explain what they mean without insulting others

I'm sorry, where is this insult you seem to have dreamed up? Me telling you you are making no sense is not an insult, it's just the truth.

Going to create 2 seperate new threads in order to organize some data we can present to stars regarding two of the current problems I think we can all agree are pretty large. Those being "Grimming" and "40bb stacks". I don't know what the right way of going about this is, but figure there isn't much to lose and need to start somewhere.
Hopefully the next time they email one of those surveys it has a question about SS'ers. That would be the easiest way for them to collect info on it.

Really does look exactly like Full Tilt. Not a great plan to release it just as Full Tilt comes back to market surely?
10-04-2012 , 05:52 AM
Don't think it will b properly released for a while just beta testing for a few soon

Vini when you play poker do things like this ever happen? Or do birds just fly in through the window, sit on your shoulder and start eating seeds and cleaning your bedroom etc? Before the local old lady shows up and says "Hi Vini i've baked you this nice fruit pie using grandma's special old recipe!".

All of this obv happens whilst el greco stacks deuces to you pre.
