They don't really give a **** where you are going.

They just want to hear you speak so they can tell if you are drunk/high/nervous about the 4 kilos of blow in the trunk.

You know how much condoms used to cost back in the day?

Spoiler:
I don't know, we never used them ;-)

I was busted for speeding on thursday.

Cop says I was going 88 in a 65.

My first reaction was "**** I'm screwed." My second reaction was "only 88? Could have been higher."

I think I'm supposed to plead not guilty by default and fight it in court right? Don't want my insurance and stuff to go up.
02-04-2012 , 06:36 AM
Prob cost more to fight it than increase in insurance? Also pretty sure your odds of winning are super low.
02-04-2012 , 06:51 AM
Costs nothing other than my time to fight it. If I lose it's no different than pleading guilty in the first place. Pleading guilty to speeding is the sucker's play I'm pretty sure.

My chances of winning basically come down to officer not showing up, which is like a 2-outer on the flop. But hopefully I can get the fine reduced or pay the fine and not have it be on my record or something.
02-04-2012 , 08:44 AM
Just get a lawyer to get it reduced to 9 over
02-04-2012 , 09:07 AM
Oh thought it cost money to fight it. I know that was the case for my parking ticket (or I think it was just I had to pay court costs if I lost or something).

just popping ITT to say that Marvin's advice is surprisingly solid.

If it's a reckless driving charge I would fight it for sure. Undecided if it's just speeding

omg omg i was first shoutout in pooh bah post omg omg omg

if you fight it in court and lose don't they tack on fees/surcharges?
02-04-2012 , 12:33 PM
Those are there if you just plead guilty too.

So I think not guilty is freerolling.

I know Massachusetts added a court fee last year to fighting speeding tickets so you couldn't freeroll the system

You guys are speeding ticket fish. Any traffic lawyer can get a speeding ticket reduced to a parking ticket/non moving violation for ~$100. Then you just have to pay the ~$60 parking ticket and you have no points on your license, no insurance increase. EZ Game
02-04-2012 , 02:31 PM
Yeah I mean at least in North Carolina if you ever pay your speeding ticket and don't hire a lawyer you are BEYOND ******ed. In the Raleigh area the extra cost of hiring a lawyer is something absurdly small like $60 and it will save you probably almost $1000 in extra insurance from if you get points.

Yea fighting it is by far the best choice. Also you could take one of those ******ed online safety courses to get rid of points and help out with insurance. It takes like an hour but the amount of money you save on insurance is actually worth it imo. Oh and stop speeding with your nice cars!

speeding ticket? lol. a couple weeks ago, i got pulled speeding with an oz of pot on me and paraphernalia. the speeding was the least of my ****ing problems.

1 - hire lawyer
2 - pay lawyer to get speeding ticket and paraphernalia charges dropped
3 - eat possession charge and pay fines/lawyer fees
4 - profit?

The only way to get it off my record is to take classes and be sober for a year...........LOL.

Eric,

how can you come into this thread after your date and talk about speedning tickets rather than what happened ?

Back when I used to smoke, I had a bag with an oz of pot in the back of my car. Obviously I get pulled over for speeding coming back from a casino on an Indian Reservation. The cop at one point asked me did you buy anything on the reservation? I obviously very calmly said no and then he let me go with a warning. Very scary for sure.
