Here at Aussie Millions there's a 5k HU tourney coming up. Wasn't even going to consider playing it but apparently last year it was a 10k and the breakdown was like 8 solid regs 4 meh live regs and 4 legit fish. This year it's only a 5k and friend said he heard a couple fish have already registered. I don't pretend to be a sick HU player or anything but I've played a ton of HU to start FR/6m tables and played a decent number of midstakes HU regs so although I may definitely be a dog to any solid HU reg that plays in it I obviously think I have a decent edge over any fish or meh live reg who plays it and I think the solid regs would have a minimal edge on me and if they're like most bumhunting regs I might even have a slight edge. Don't really feel like dropping 5k though so considering selling action at no markup. Any interest in that? Still not even sure I want to play it if I can sell just wanted to see if there was interest. pm me if interested thanks.

Zach, If u play I'd like to take 5% (can't send till the 24th though, and no idea how i could get money to u if ur USA. Paypal? A friend of urs on stars??) getting in to Melbourne for a couple of days this Saturday though so could maybe give u cash if I can get down the casino for a bit (travelling with gfs family) Quote if I'm good for the 5% but best only quote if u can accept paypal or some site transfer since can't guarantee meeting up.

This is Pontylad by the way. Gl

i'm really tired of this huge bbj hangover the entire merge network seems to be on. 240k is still an above average bbj imo yet games are more dead than when it went down to 10k.

I left a drawer open unintentionally. My cat sniffed out that there was a bag of catnip inside it. I return two minutes later and she's rolling around inside the drawer having a cat-gasm. lolcats

This was some kind of level post, right? ;-)

Mrs. Fly waited tables in college. Got a $100 tip from Jay Leno. No note tho. True story.

Since you are the resident Niners fan and I'm the resident Giants fan, how about a few $$$ on the game for laughs? No amount too small.

BTW, ignore the haters. They are just jealous because you work hard and have made more off of your "limited" poker skills than they have off their "crushing" win rates (at NL100 lol). You are better than 95% of poker players out there and are totally qualified to coach... just maybe not the people ITT.

Finally, the concept of leasing seems ******ed to me unless you are some kind of prima donna. So basically the concept is you are borrowing the car over the period of time where the value of the vehicle depreciates the fastest? And then you are going to repeat the process when the lease is over? Sounds smart.

Me too. Buying new is mildly stupid too. Spend money on important things ldo.

((as fly and the other oldsters like me that have been around the block a few times will surely agree,,, invest the most money on things that will make you money,,,,invest the least in the things that are disposable and will never appreciate))

+1, tried to grind a couple times yesterday and kept quitting after like 30 mins cause the tables were SO dead. zero 400 was running and like 2 tables of 200 that didn't have all regs.

lease < buy new < buy w/ 10k miles

i thought this too, until i worked at a private golf course for 6 years. the wealthiest ppl in the country are members there, and they all lease. didnt understand it before, but leasing is the best on so many levels. then again i couldnt care less about the value of my car after 5-10 years, and the hassle of resale/storage. im all anti-clutter lifestyle and sheeeea

Spoiler:
also billionaires lease caravans and fords ftw
01-18-2012 , 03:13 PM
if any of you guys have money i can buy on bcp msg me
01-18-2012 , 03:25 PM
Leasing a car can be fine if you want to upgrade every few years. Just like buying a house is not always better than renting if you don't plan on being there for more than a few years.

Finally, there is nothing wrong with doing something that doesn't make the most financial sense if you get enjoyment out of it. People use their cars every single day. It's like skimping on a bed when you spend 1/3 of your life in it.

I mean it doesn't make any financial sense whatsoever to eat out at expensive restaurants, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't ever do it.

Made me think of this...

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/pf_article_105934.html

"Here are 10 more possible reasons you aren't rich:

You care what your car looks like: A car is a means of transportation to get from one place to another, but many people don't view it that way. Instead, they consider it a reflection of themselves and spend money every two years or so to impress others instead of driving the car for its entire useful life and investing the money saved."
01-18-2012 , 03:50 PM
I don't really care about being "rich." Living comfortably is good enough for me.

I care what my car looks like not because I'm trying to impress others but because I love cars. Yesterday I was about to go out but my car was very dirty so I got a bucket of water and scrubbed her down like she was my dog that needed a bath (go ahead and make jokes, I'm ready lol).

Non car people just won't get it.
01-18-2012 , 03:57 PM
i dont care about being rich, but more money = more comfortable living. A car doesnt rank very high on my list of what i need for comfortable living, so id rather spend the money elsewhere.

not a car person ldo.
01-18-2012 , 04:03 PM
im not saying leasing is the way to go but you guys seem to be missing some benefits. when you negotiate the price of your car they can tell you the cost to buy the car at the end of your lease. this gives you some good options when your lease expires. buying and selling cars is a huge pita. my car was worth a few k more than the buy out and my lease pmt's were lower than financing. also when you lease youre always driving a car under warranty.

i leased the managers car that had 3k milage and saved a bunch
