IF you want my honest opinion, which maybe you do, maybe you don't, but before I start, I just want to say that this is not a troll post, but an honest assessment of the game dynamics and state of the poker economy as it relates you and other Merge regs.
As I have relocated out of the US, I don't ever/rarely play on Merge anymore, so I won't claim to be an expert on the game quality. But it is my understanding that most regs on merge are either on a short/dwindling bankroll, due to tougher games, smaller player pools, having money locked up on FTP, are being staked, are simply afraid to keep a large balance on Merge, or a combination of all of the above.
You are a very aggressive opponent, I personally think you are too aggressive to the point of spewy, and try to out play everyone way too much, but that is just an opinion, and different styles work for different people-- It certainly doesn't make you the worst.
Now to my point: Due to the reasons listed above, most Merge regs right now, aren't in a position to get into a bunch of high variance spots, with another reg, who they know is going to put them to a test in a bunch of hands, especially heads up, even if they think you are the worst, and believe they have a good edge. Getting snapped 4 or 5 buyins could be detrimental to their bank rolls, which could be even more detrimental to their future earning potential.
This has been a problem in some higher stakes games for a while now, where no one has the bank roll depth to play the other regs, even with fine edges, because they simply can't afford a loss. Thus there are no cards in the air when the fish wants to play, and he won't start the game, thus the game never gets going, and everyone loses, making the situation that much worse. It seems it has finally started to trickle down, and that is a bad sign.
The reason everyone will start games with Zach, is because they know he is a sweet spot, too good to pass up, even if you are on a short bankroll.
Anyway, I dont know why I decided to take this post on, other than I was having trouble sleeping after a long session. Just thought I'd give my opinion on it, of course you are all free to flame away.
