yup. done em prolly ~10 times so far and they've been awesome every time. with large groups of people, small groups, etc.

I remember once, when the poker boom was still huge and I was still super motivated to get better, I took them with some friends but this one random girl was being super annoying and I just couldn't take it so I left and went home and just grinded. this was like 2005 and I remember having had this crazy poker epiphany that night that the game was all about volume and all I needed to do was play tight and put in tons of hands (lol). I remember I was playing SnG's and every time the table would get short I would feel like the decisions were coming soooo fast. I probably played like the top 3% of hands and I ended up winning like 4 of 6 but I kept timing out all the damn time and saying random **** in the chat box about how everybody were idiots and they were ruining the game because they kept limping and raising huge amounts compared to relative stacks. lol, crazy times. miss those days.

not everyone finds their calling at a young age and some do a 180 career change half way to retirement. i think its important to gain different experiences and explore before ever heading down a long, narrow, and one way path. theres a lot of ways to learn about yourself and gain life experience but a less popular and effective choice is vocational testing programs. there are very detailed and highly professional programs out there. something like target might not be the best job for exploring and learning about yourself. i know this guy who joined the army with pretty much no expectations. he learned that he could assemble a rifle better than anyone, was an amazing ping pong player, and loved ice cream. his experience in the army surprisingly lead him to becoming a legendary shrimp boat captain. im searching for the words here and im not quite sure how to put it but sometimes in life you just never know what's going to happen next

Mushroom tea is amazing. I don't think I'll ever do acid again but I can definitely see myself drinking some more tea in the future. Btw, sick drop.

FTP thread won't cut it for me this year. If I am to get my fix of LOL_UCD/juan valdez pwnage/LSDcanreallyopenyourmindman/other, then I have no choice but to subscribe. Also Stars thread is usually so boring.

maybe for some people.

LOL yoga, LOL drugs. These things will never fix your life. The people who think they can are invariably shallow and lazy. Fixing your life will fix your life, not magic pills and awkward contortions and vague eastern "philosophy". It is similar to people who claim they don't know how to lose weight. Yes you do you lying fat ****, everyone does.

no one said anything remotely close to 'fixing' life

it's more about introspection, learning things about yourself that you didn't know and looking at life thru a perspective u've never had before.

ITT trying to figure out who you are as a person and what you want in life is not remotely close to 'fixing' your life.

just make sure you're in a good mood and a comfortable environment. mushrooms are one of those drugs where things can change really quickly into a panic mode. bad trips suck, I've had a couple of them.
02-22-2012 , 05:12 PM
who startted all this mushroom tea campaigning neway? camomille tea has similar(sp) effects , sway cheapers and no discotrips

am i missing something or is investing most of my available cash in a SEP IRA a good play?
02-22-2012 , 05:30 PM
some criticizers need to get off their high horses and lighten up! nothing spoken in the 2012 Merge Regulars Thread is gospel and shouldn't be treated as such.

as Jah pointed out I never suggested anything close to "fixing your life" through drugs. I simply was stating the handful of occasions I've tried them have been mind expanding and extremely worthwhile. to each their own I guess although I would certainly never condemn anybody for trying anything that's virtually harmless unless abused, especially when it appears as if I never tried it myself.

in closing, Ren

shrooms suck, i once had a conversation with a plastic fish, and witnessed a guy smash a bottle over his head/put his roomtes laptop in the sink. actually that sounds kind of sweet, but i get tummy aches.

Nothing personal Kevin. Just not too keen on claims of how psychedelics can make you better/smarter/wiser in any way. They are the self help books of the drug world.

It's good if you plan on going back to school at some point or you have kids who are going to uni (no penalty for early withdrawal). I think you can only withdraw $10K for a house (no penalty). So the rest of the money is going to be locked up until age 59.5. I guess at some point the compounding benefits > the 10% early withdrawal penalty. SEPs are awesome for old geezers like me tho. :-)

depending on the experiences you have, psychedelics can change your life a lot and can make you much better. idk about smarter or wiser, but then again, it depends on how one defines those things.

If you ever have time, this is an interesting read.
