Car talk being brought back up..

So, last week, went out and bought a car for my gf (loan). 2010 Nissan Sentra, brought it home, she was excited, liked it, etc. Next morning car wouldnt start. Dealership towed it in, claimed to fix it, we drove it home. Next morning, wouldnt start. Not a battery problem, turned over, just wouldnt ignite.

Dealership brought it back in, after I screamed at them on phone about selling me a lemon. (IL does NOT have lemon law.)

Now the dealership can not fix the car, been a week and they claim they will ahve to change out the engine on the car, and are offering us a different car. 4k more offering it to us for 2k more.

What is my play? Obv I can tell them I dont want to add more to a loan, I got that car for that price for a reason... the car should be covered under warranty, so I should be able to tell them to suck it up and fix it. But I dont know if I want a car having all these problems, could be a sign of how it was driven prior to me owning it.

Ideas? Demand money back and go elsewhere maybe? Use this situation to get a more expensive car for way cheaper perhaps?

I definitely would not keep the current car under any circumstances. There's close to 0 chance it will ever be problem free in the future imo.

what you gotta do is signalizing some interest in her of course, and its good to be nice. but dont overdo it . girls dont want to settle for guys that are too easy game for them but thats exactly what youre saying w the rose. it comes off as if youre not seeing many girls and its rare/ super special for you to go on a date or whatever imo and thats not what we want her to believe

yeah i mean this is actually decent advice. i decided not to do the rose tonight. too many people were saying its not a good idea, and even tho i trust ncsu07's advice, i think thats just better for a 3rd date type thing. I'm also thinking perhaps if tonight goes well, maybe i'll send flowers to her house to surprise her. it will be a reminder that i'm thinking of her.

given eric's history, i wouldn't be surprised if marvin's advice wasn't good for eric. our mutual friend eric seems like the kind of fellow who would prefer frequent gangbangs over a wife and children, at least in the immediate term. of course eric can correct me if i'm wrong, but this is my read as a poker player.

Thanks for writing. You are correct in your assumptions. At the current moment I would prefer gangbangs over wife and kids. However, the guys who go that route, end up being the guy at the old folks home with nobody to come and visit him, and he just sits and talks to the wall until he dies.

yeah unfortunately when you're 28, you start thinking about those things. i'm only a few years from being in my 30's, and when you're in your 30's it becomes much harder to find propsects to settle down with. i need to take care of this in the next few years if it's ever gonna happen imo. one of my biggest life fears really is being the old guy with nobody.
